"heeseung! did you feed the kids?"
frantic footsteps thudded from the kitchen. "uh. . . define feed" he called back, voice teetering between guilt and amusement.
yuwon paused, fingers mid-air with her earring clasp, and narrowed her eyes. "oh my god. you didn't."
heeseung appeared in the doorway, shirtless, hair a mess, sweatpants slung low on his hips. He gave her a sheepish grin, the kind that made it hard to stay mad. "i was going to" he defended, "but you yelled at me to iron your dress, remember?"
she turned fully, arching a brow. "and you didn't do that either, did you?"
he pointed to the crumpled dress on the bed and shrugged. "you distracted me."
her glare softened into something exasperated but fond. "you're unbelievable" she muttered, brushing past him.
in the kitchen, their two cats sat on the counter, twin pairs of eyes glaring in judgment. the black one, sleek and elegant, flicked her tail dramatically, while the fluffy gray one let out a low, accusatory meow.
yuwon smirked. "they're judging you."
"nah" heeseung said, leaning against the counter, arms crossed. "they love me more."
she shot him a look. "in your dreams."
he grinned, wide and lazy. "every night."as she poured the food into the bowls, the tension eased, but her heart still beat faster. it always did when he was around.
back in the bedroom, yuwon sat on the edge of the bed, slipping on her earrings. her eyes drifted to the ring on her finger—the delicate band catching the soft glow of the lamp, the stone gleaming like a secret only they shared. it still felt surreal sometimes.
"heeseung" she called, voice softer now, "come zip me up."
his footsteps were slow, deliberate, and she felt him before she saw him—his presence filling the room, warm and electric. he stopped behind her, his hands brushing her bare shoulders, the cool zipper teeth skimming her spine as he tugged it up.
"now now, this looks better unzipped" he murmured, his breath warm against her neck.she tilted her head, letting her hair fall to one side. "does it?" he hummed, pressing a slow kiss to the curve of her shoulder, "it does."
her eyes fluttered shut for a moment, savoring the heat pooling low in her stomach. "we're going to be late" she breathed, though the words held no conviction.
"we could skip" heeseung suggested, his hands sliding to her waist, pulling her back against him. "jake won't care."
yuwon turned in his arms, her fingers tracing the lines of his jaw. "our best friends are engaged and you want to skip? you're terrible. "
