The entire event went smoothly, with the exception of an anxious Karan, who was searching for Kiara, and Vaishali, who made a late entrance. Gouri Devi, the eldest of the family, also arrived late, staying only for a brief time for the ritual before leaving for the ashram to meet Vedavyas Shastri. As the evening came to a close, the families made their way back to their respective palaces, as the engagement was scheduled for the next day, and many preparations were still pending. Meanwhile, a few guests were expected to arrive later that night, and Vaishali had already left to welcome them.
Veer and Aastha didn't get many opportunities to interact after the ritual. As their cars drove parallel for a while, Veer waved goodbye to Aastha before their paths diverged at the junction—his car entering Prem Mahal, and hers heading toward Shakti Mahal. Saanvi, who noticed the exchange, teased Aastha, making her blush in response.
When her family finally arrived at Shakti Mahal, Raj and Jai immediately got busy attending to last-minute tasks. Meanwhile, Meethali and Kanika informed Aastha that they'd be preoccupied, as relatives from their maternal sides were expected to arrive soon.
Aastha and Saanvi walked into the palace together. Ahead of them, Aastha spotted Suraj entering and called out to him. Ignoring her, he kept walking towards his room. Unaware of this, Saanvi turned to Aastha and said, "You can talk to Bhai sa later. Right now, you need to get ready for the brunch with our friends and cousins! Don't tell me you've forgotten. We all planned this brunch to celebrate your upcoming wedding!"
"Dressing up again?" Aastha frowned. "Saanvi, seriously?"
Rolling her eyes, Saanvi replied, "It's for the brunch, jiji. You're the bride! You can't just show up in pajamas."
Aastha let out an exaggerated sigh. "Can't we postpone this celebration?" When Saanvi looked at her incredulously, Aastha rolled her eyes and glanced down at her outfit. With a faint smile, she suggested, "..or maybe I can just go as I am. This outfit looks great, doesn't it?"
"No way! It's a brunch, not a pooja at temple. Jiji, please!" Saanvi whined.
Aastha sighed deeply. "Saanvi, I'm exhausted. This is way more than I'm used to. There are still days of rituals and ceremonies ahead. Can't we do this after everything's over? We can relax and celebrate properly then. I'll go wherever you want. What do you say?"
Saanvi's face fell, and she pouted dramatically. "Soon, you'll leave us, jiji. Who knows how long it'll be before I see you again? And even now, you don't want to spend your last few days here with me. You don't care about me anymore—"
"STOP." Aastha raised her hand, cutting off the emotional monologue. "Alright, brunch it is. Every day is overwhelming as it is, I don't think I have enough energy for your drama. So, we will go. Happy now?"
Saanvi broke into a wide grin, pulling Aastha into a tight hug and kissing her cheek.
"But," Aastha added firmly, narrowing her eyes, "on one condition."
