Maddy's POV
I approached my ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, after seeing him talk to Hollis, one of the biggest estate property people in Kildare. 
"Sorry to interrupt your little make-out session", I said, approaching the two.
"Oh hey Maddy", Rafe smiled immediately. His smile had always given me these specific butterflies that I would get from nothing else. 
"Hi", Sofia answered coldly. 
"What did you talk about with Hollis?", I asked completely ignoring the brunette standing next to Rafe. 
"She offered me to work with her"
"You only?"
"Yeah but uhm I told her I have a partner", Rafe explained and for some reason, my heart made a little jump, "Let's grab a drink yeah? Sofia, Babe, excuse us for a second".
"Sure", Sofia smiled tightly before Rafe and I made it to the bar, grabbing a glass of champagne. 
The whole situation reminded me of the night we broke up, the people, the Staff, the scenery. The only thing that was different, was Sofia, she was now standing with us and not behind the counter. 
"Uhm yeah so she wants me in on one of the biggest projects they have, she said something about a fresh wind", Rafe explained sipping on his drink. 
"Well uhm, will you get on that deal?", I asked nervously. Obviously, it was still his decision, he could do business outside of our company.
"I don't know, I don't want you to feel like I would be betraying you", Rafe explained looking at me, "But it is quite a good opportunity to get a better status on this island". 
"Rafe, you think too much into this, we do get taken seriously, trust me. But if you want to do that then you go ahead", I smiled. 
It hurt that we weren't as close anymore. Something about it was weird, we had all of this love for each other and now it was just gone. Frozen. 
"I don't know, I will think about it, depends on how much she wants from me"
"Don't spend my money okay? You can pay that from your private account not from the business okay?"
"Yeah of-"
"Hey uhm, can we leave? I'm cold", Sofia asked interrupting us. 
"Yeah, yeah sure", Rafe answered confused at first as to why she was standing next to him all of a sudden, "We can leave, can you order an Uber?"
Sofia nodded and grabbed her phone, quickly ordering an Uber, "Done".
"Well, I guess we will see each other soon, and don't worry about the deal, I will handle it", Rafe smiled at me before taking Sofia's hand. 
"Bye", she smiled overly sweet. 
Don't get me wrong, maybe she was a sweet girl but something about her seemed off. Where did she come from all of a sudden and why was she so focused on Rafe?
I sighed and turned around, downing my champagne. God, I swear if Rafe spends our money then I will be pissed. 
I looked around the crowd and noticed that none of my friends were here anymore. Maybe it would be the best to just go home myself. I ordered an Uber to my house and walked out of the crowd.
"Hey pretty lady", I heard a voice next to me as I was waiting on my Uber. 
"Uhm, hey", I answered recognizing the guy as my one-night stand a few days ago.
