Silence stalks the streets

Despair ringing through their ears

The buzzing of drones never to cease.

Families waiting for their demise

Mourning the deaths of their children

Knowing the promises of safety

Of protection are all lies.

Flashes of reds, of oranges

Light up the skies, tinging

The dark in a blazing red.

Another building sent crashing to the floor

Leaving no place for the people, not even a door.

No hope.

No road to freedom.

No way of escape.

Nothing to remake.

Sobbing stalks the streets

With nothing to eat.

The buzzing never to cease.

No one at ease.

No freedom, no release.

The oppressed weep

''Where is our homeland?''

''Where are our families?''

''Why has this fate been subjected to us?''

Queuing to line

At damaged mosques

Ready to pray

Allahu Akbar Al-Allahu Akbar

Praying for an end to this chaos

Nothing to show the way of peace.

People reside in makeshift camps

Being told it's safe.

Night falls once more.

They fall asleep, hungry and tired.

Tired of the lies

Of the 'safety' that they have.

Peace, but not for long.

Refugees sleep peacefully,

Thinking of a home,

A life,

Freedom.

Until...

Fire.

Chaos.

Death.

Strikes again.
