I lay back on the bed, Flynn and Rue were still asleep. She was laying on his chest with her ass pressed against my front. I Carefully shift onto my back, putting my arms behind my head and stare at the ceiling.

I have so much to do today, the boys and I are meeting with the Italian and American mafia. Afterwards, Lucien and I have to make our rounds with the local gangs. Yet, I can't find it in me to wake Flynn up and leave, knowing Rue could wake up any minute and regret what happened last night.

Flynn might be the next boss, In terms of the Russian mafia, but we all have certain things we do to help him and his family out, so they aren't doing it all alone.

Outside of school, Flynn works negotiates deals with new partners, organizes raids, and recently has tried to locate the man who assaulted Rue.

As the lead interrogator, I oversee new prisoner intakes and test the latest equipment. Lucien serves as our middleman; he owns a tattoo studio but also manages one of our clubs, handling internal deals and networking. Meanwhile, Maliki moonlights as our in-house tech specialist, working on gadgets to enhance our operations, all while working as a teaching assistant at the local university.

Pretty boring shit if you ask me.

I find my mind wandering back to last night and I can't shake the feeling that Rue is fighting what she feels for us. Maybe it's having more than one partner or she's frightened of a relationship— and I completely understand what she's been through, but we would never pressure her into anything.

I know we could be enough for her, we just need to convince her of that. I can feel it in my gut that we're meant to be with Rue. Good people don't come around often in this life, so when they do, you hold onto them for dear life.

Speaking of, Rue yawned and blinked her eyes open, the sheets shifting around her. "Hey sleepyhead," I said, brushing a stray of hair from her face. "How'd you sleep?"

"Like a baby, how about you?" She sighs softly and buries her face in my neck, the small affection making me smile.

"Good, we'll have to wake the beast up soon and get out of here," I whisper, and stroke her hair, and holding her tight to my chest. "How are you feeling after last night?" I said softly, easing the awkward question for her.

She looks up at me, her face flushed and she smiles. "Other than feeling like my ass is on fire, I feel great. Um...are you okay with what happened yesterday?"

"More than okay, I think-" Before I could finish my thought, a ringtone cut me off, stirring Flynn awake and drawing a sigh from Rue.

She grabbed her phone and frowned, it's probably someone she doesn't want to speak to. From this angle, I can't see who it is, but her reaction suggests she's not happy.
