The days following our intense moment in Athwa's office were a whirlwind. My mind was still replaying every touch, every whispered word, every apology, and every kiss.
Today, the shop was busy. I'd hired two workers to help me manage the shopfront while I focused on creating new pieces. The steady hum of activity filled the air—a comforting background noise as I shaped a new cup. This one was for Athwa. The thought of him using something I'd made with my own hands filled me with a warmth that spread through my chest.
The cool, slick texture moulded easily, responding to the gentle pressure of my fingers. The studio smelt of earth and clay, a comforting scent that grounded me as I worked. Two new workers were bustling about the shop, handling customers and arranging displays. It felt good to have help, allowing me to focus more on creating.
The sun streamed through the large windows, casting warm light across the room and highlighting the fine dust particles floating in the air.
My phone buzzed on the table next to me, and I wiped my hands on a cloth before picking it up. "Hello, bhai..." I answered, cradling the phone between my ear and shoulder as I continued to shape the cup.
"Hey, Taara." Bhaiya's voice came through the line, warm and familiar. "How's my little sister doing?"
A smile spread across my face. "I'm good, Bhaiya. I'm just working on a new piece. How about you?"
"Busy as always," he chuckled. "But I wanted to check in on you. How are you?"
I took a long breath before replying. "I am absolutely fine, bhaiya, and doing great with my shop as well."
"I am glad; it's going as you wished for." He paused, hesitating a little. "How's everything with Athwa?"
I paused, glancing at the nearly finished cup. "It's... good; things are getting better."
"Taara," he gasped, "please... don't stop."
His words, the pleas, and the desperation rang in the back of my mind, making my face burn and my heart race.
"You sound happy," Bhaiya noted, his tone thoughtful. "Are you?"
His voice brought me back from my thoughts. I leaned back on my stool, considering his question. The recent days have been a whirlwind, full of intense emotions and challenges. But amidst all that, there was a sense of peace I hadn't felt in a long time.
I replied softly. "Well, I'm trying to busy myself with work, and that's working wonders."
"I'm glad to hear that, Taara," he said. "I just want you to know that you can talk to me about anything and share anything."
"I know, bhaiya, and trust me, I'm doing great." I assured him.
"You deserve to be happy," he said.
"Thanks, Bhaiya. How's everyone at home?"
