I NEEDED to talk to Hanni. She always made sense of the chaos in my head. Grabbing my phone, I sent her a quick message, asking if she could meet me at her cottage and to make sure she was alone. The anticipation of sharing my turmoil settled in my chest.

When I finally arrived at Hanni's cozy little cottage, the familiar scent of warm tea greeted me. I found her already seated at the table, a steaming cup in front of her. She looked up, her brow furrowing with concern as she noticed my distressed expression.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Hanni asked, gesturing for me to sit down.

I took a deep breath, trying to organize my thoughts, and began, "I saw Jungwon and Minji together in the forest. They looked... comfortable, laughing like they were sharing something special." I couldn't help the tremor in my voice as I explained the scene that had played over and over in my mind.

Hanni blinked, clearly taken aback. "Wait, what? Jungwon and Minji? Are you sure they were just talking?" Her forehead creased in confusion.

"Yes! They were laughing, Hanni. It felt... intimate," I replied, the ache in my chest tightening with every word. "I just don't understand. I thought there was something between Jungwon and me, but seeing them together made me question everything."

Hanni leaned back in her chair, biting her lip. "But you and Jungwon have a connection. He's always been there for you. Why would you think he'd like Minji?"

I shrugged, frustration boiling over. "I don't know! Maybe I'm just imagining things. What if he sees something in her that he doesn't see in me?" I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes.

"Okay, but you have to remember that just because they were talking doesn't mean there's something more," Hanni countered, her tone gentle yet firm. "You've had moments with Jungwon too. You can't let your mind jump to conclusions."

"But it's hard not to!" I exclaimed, my voice rising. "What if I've misread everything? What if he really does like her?"

Hanni's confusion deepened, and she shook her head slightly. "You're overthinking this. Has Jungwon ever given you any signs that he likes Minji? I mean, really?"

I hesitated, recalling all the moments we'd shared—the laughter, the stolen glances, the warmth that enveloped me when we were together. "Well... no, but..."

"But nothing!" Hanni interrupted, leaning closer. Hanni took a moment to process my words, her brow furrowing deeper in thought. "You know what? I think I have an idea," she said slowly, her voice thoughtful. "I'll talk to Minji and see if I can hint at what's going on. Maybe she'll give me some insight into what's really happening between her and Jungwon."

I blinked, a mix of surprise and hope flooding through me. "You'd do that?"

"Of course! I mean, it's not fair to have you spiraling like this without getting some clarity," Hanni replied, her determination evident. "I'll approach her casually, maybe ask about her time with Jungwon. If anything's going on, she might let something slip."

"But what if she thinks I'm being paranoid? What if she brushes it off?" I asked, a hint of anxiety creeping back in.

Hanni waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry about that. I'll frame it in a way that feels natural. I just want to see if there's something more to their friendship. I'll report back to you, I promise."

A small smile tugged at my lips, grateful for Hanni's willingness to step in. "Thanks, Hanni. I really appreciate it. I just... I need to know what's going on, so I can figure out my feelings."

"Exactly," she said, leaning back in her chair with a satisfied nod. "Let me handle Minji, and we'll get to the bottom of this. Just try to relax in the meantime, okay?"

I nodded, feeling a little lighter, knowing that Hanni would take charge and talk to Minji. "Alright. I'll try."

As I left her cottage, I felt a mix of anticipation and nervousness. It wasn't the direct approach I had envisioned, but having Hanni as my ally gave me some comfort. I just hoped that whatever she found out would help clear the confusion swirling in my mind.
