Yoon-ha had been dating Hyunjin for two years. Two long, complicated years. The kind of years that seemed to blur together in a haze of broken promises and fleeting moments of happiness. He was charming, irresistibly so, but Hyunjin had a talent for making her doubt herself. For every sweet gesture or loving word, there was an equal measure of rude remarks or flippant disregard. But Yoon-ha had always found a way to forgive him.
She had caught him more than once, in situations that spoke louder than words. Kissing other girls. Disappearing for days without an explanation. Every time, she told herself it would be the last time, but she never could bring herself to walk away. How could she? When Hyunjin flashed that signature smile, that look of sincerity in his eyes—how could she hate him when every part of her heart screamed to believe that he would change?
"He's going to change," she whispered to herself every night, trying to convince her heart that things would get better. That they had to.
But tonight... tonight was different.
Yoon-ha had seen him. Kiss another girl. In front of her, no less.
The anger boiled inside her, threatening to spill over. No more excuses. This was it. This was her breaking point.
She stood in front of him now, her voice calm but laced with the hurt she'd been holding in for so long. "This is your last chance, Hyunjin," she said, her eyes steady on him. "I want you to show me your true love. I want you to cry for me, like I've cried for you."
