As we sat in the small, cold room, the tension in the air was thick.
The police officers were serious, their voices firm but not unkind. "Do you know anyone who might have had a grudge against Hanni? Or perhaps against either of you?" one of the officers asked, looking straight at us.
I could feel my heart racing as I glanced at Jay and Jungwon. We all seemed lost in thought, trying to connect the dots.
Suddenly, a light bulb flickered in my mind, brightening the darkness of confusion. Min-ho, my ex-boyfriend... He had always been possessive and angry when we broke up, and I remembered how he would sometimes lash out in jealousy. Maybe he wanted to get to Hanni just to hurt me, to make me feel miserable for moving on.
As I mulled over this revelation, one of the officers reached into a folder and pulled out a slightly blurry photograph.
"We've managed to get some kind of photograph from one of the camera nearby." My heart dropped as they handed it to me. The moment my eyes fell on the image, I felt a chill run down my spine. There he was – Min-ho, sitting in a car, looking right at the camera. It was unmistakably him.I gasped, my breath hitching in my throat as I stared at the paper clutched in my trembling hands. It felt like the world around me had slowed down.
Jay quickly noticed my reaction. He side-hugged me tightly, his warm hand rubbing my shoulder in a comforting gesture. I could feel his concern radiating off him, and it made me feel a little safer. "It's okay," he whispered softly, trying to reassure me. But my mind was racing, and I was barely able to focus on his words.
Jungwon, on the other hand, was boiling with anger. I could see the fury in his eyes as he glared at the photo. "Fuck...that pyscho bitch." he exclaimed, his voice rising. It was clear that he was ready to confront Min-ho, to demand answers for what he had done. I could sense the protective instinct radiating from him, and it made me grateful to have someone who cared so much.
As the officers continued their questioning, my thoughts spiraled around Min-ho. I remembered all the times he had threatened to ruin my happiness, to make my life difficult. It felt surreal to think that he might actually be involved in something so serious. I exchanged worried glances with the boys, each of us silently processing the weight of this new information.
"Do you think he could have actually done something to Hanni?" I whispered, my voice shaking. The thought terrified me. Would Min-ho really go that far? Jay nodded, his expression serious. "If he has a grudge, then we can't rule anything out. We need to tell the police everything we know about him," he replied, determination in his eyes.
Jungwon leaned forward, his fists clenched. "Let's make sure they know how dangerous he can be. We can't let him get away with this." he said, his voice filled with conviction. I nodded, feeling a mix of fear and resolve. We had to stand together and make sure that justice was served, not just for Hanni, but for ourselves as well.
As the officers continued to ask us questions, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. We would face whatever came next together, and we would not let Min-ho's actions define our lives.
