Chapter 26: Cast List Drama!

                                    

                                          
After a good night's rest, the day finally arrived when the cast list would be posted. You had barely slept a wink last night, wondering what role you would get. Waking up, tired but excited, rushing to get ready for the day. Once you tossed your clothes on, you raced downstairs, excitement rising inside you. Down in the kitchen, you found Kronk and Skinner preparing some breakfast for the rest of the villains.
You entered, skipping inside as you grabbed a refillable bottle of water and filled it up with water from the fridge.
"You got a pep in your step today (Y/N), what's got you skipping on air?" Kronk asked as he packed your favorite sandwich in a lunchbox. 
"Cast list is getting posted today," you announced, screwing the cap on the bottle of water before closing the fridge.
"Well knowing you, you're gonna be just fine," Skinner said looking over his shoulder from a pot on the stove. "This time, we know you're gonna be the star of the show."
"Thanks," you said, grabbing the lunchbox from Kronk. "I really hope this time I get a lead."
"Well, break a leg." Kronk winked as he turned back to the stove. "I'll be sure to have celebratory cookies waiting for you when you get back!"
"Sweet." you smiled as you headed out of the kitchen and to the mudroom. You grabbed your backpack that was leaning against the dining room wall before heading out. You passed through the mudroom and to the secret garage under your house, filled with various vehicles. You walked up to your car where Frollo, in his Mr John disguise, was waiting.
He looked at his watch, then back at you. "You're late."
"Sorry," you apologized as you pulled out your keys and unlocked the car. You placed your stuff in the backseat before hopping in the driver's seat. Frollo climbed into the passenger, glancing at you. "You look to be in a cheery mood," he commented on your bright expression.
"Cast list is getting posted today, remember," you said, turning the key as the engine came to life. You turned your head as you backed out of the spot before exiting the garage.
"Ah yes, the musical. I do hope you don't let this.. extracurricular get in the way of your education." 
"Relax." you rolled your eyes. "I've got it all under control. Besides this is the last musical I'll be in before college. I want to make the most out of my senior year." you said with a smile as you pulled out onto the road.
The rest of the drive to school was quiet. You had made it just in time, pulling into your spot just as the buses were pulling up out front. You waved bye to "Mr. Johns" as you parted ways inside the school building.
As you entered the building, you heard the bell ring signaling the start of homeroom. When you arrived, however, you saw your friends gathered around a piece of paper. The cast list. You quickly rushed over, stomach knotting as you pushed your way towards the front. You scanned the list for your name, eventually finding it.
Diana Gray: (Y/N) (L/N)
And under that
Nick Marson: Jeremy Roberts.
You looked at the name in shock. You knew you would get a lead, being a senior and all, but this one? You felt your stomach tie itself in a knot as you stared blankly at the sheet. You were excited, but to do it with Jeremy, on stage, in front of an audience of hundreds of people, especially the villains? Things just didn't sit right.
"Look who the love birds got cast as." Ava joked as she nudged you, looking for her name.
"It does work perfectly, you two have had eyes on each other since day one." Emma teased.
