In the morning, the air in Bangkok was still as gentle as a greeting, welcoming the two of them back after a long holiday. The pale sunlight of dawn peeked through the tall buildings, casting soft streaks of light on the road. In her neat military uniform, Engfa held Charlotte's hand, and the two of them walked toward the Ministry of Defense. Charlotte gently turned her head, watching Engfa's every movement, feeling an unusual sense of peace. Many times, they had left their marks here, but today there was something different - a sense of a new beginning, one that Charlotte had long awaited, yet felt a bit nostalgic about.
Upon entering the office, Engfa turned around, her eyes full of tenderness:
"Are you worried, Charlotte? This is a big decision."
Charlotte smiled softly:
"I've thought it through, Engfa. I think it's time for a change, and being by your side is the only thing I want."
Engfa nodded, her face full of trust. They exchanged a deep look before parting ways so Charlotte could complete her resignation procedure. Engfa watched Charlotte's figure disappear behind the door, silently reminding herself to work harder for the future of both of them.
At the intelligence office, Charlotte met Tina and Tin - familiar teammates with whom she had shared many missions. Tin smiled brightly upon seeing Charlotte:
"So you're really leaving us, Charlotte?"
Charlotte smiled lightly, her eyes briefly filled with emotion:
"I will always remember all of you. But I need a new life, a new journey."
Tina stepped forward, holding Charlotte's hand, her eyes shining:
"You made a good choice, Charlotte. Be happy, and never forget, we'll always be here, supporting you."
After completing the procedures, Charlotte left the Ministry of Defense with a mixed feeling of joy and longing. The sky was clear, and the golden sunlight greeted her as she stepped out of the gates. She took a deep breath, savoring the taste of freedom creeping into every breath, and then smiled brightly. "Finally, I can spend all my time with Engfa," she thought to herself.
Meanwhile, Engfa was busy with a stack of thick files, her gaze focused and serious, flipping through the documents with decisive movements. Tif, her close colleague, sat beside her, admiring her:
"Engfa, you are really strong. But I know you miss Charlotte, right?"
Engfa smiled faintly, her eyes softening for a moment:
"Maybe, but work is still a responsibility. Charlotte will understand, and she has her own work to do."
After leaving the headquarters, Charlotte went to pick up Marima. Together, they went to the café that she and Engfa had prepared for a long time. The café was still a bit messy, with the rich aroma of coffee filling the air, but Charlotte felt an unusual warmth.
Rainbow Café was located on a busy street in Bangkok, where the crowd bustled day and night. Charlotte had chosen this location a long time ago when the rent was still cheap and the area hadn't attracted much attention. Now, as it became one of the most expensive places in the city, Charlotte felt proud of her wise investment decision.
Not only this café, but Charlotte now owned seven properties in the city's most expensive locations. Thanks to her ability to assess real estate potential and connections in the intelligence industry, she had bought these lands at discounted prices right after the country unified. In the future, Charlotte planned to open a chain of Rainbow Cafés and restaurants to build a solid career.
