"For the record, your clothes did not match last night." I joke with Mason. "You wasn't saying that when you was checking me out with your mouth wide open though." Mason said. I laughed a little in my head. "I could've just been putting on a show to make you feel good." I say folding my arms across my chest. "Sure. That's what you were doing." Mason says while smirking. I bit my bottom lip. "Whelp better go sit with my homeroom." Mason says before getting up. He kissed my cheek and told me he loved me. I watched him as he walked away. I then turned to my so called "Best Friends" and saw them sitting together with some other girl. She was tall, had vanilla skin, was a blonde, she had freckles, full make-up, which in my opinion is a little too much. Especially since we're in the 6th grade. I sighed and pulled out a book from my book bag. "Rebecca." A sooth voice says. I look up and see Chelsea and Amanda. "Yes?" I ask. They then sit down beside me. "We're sorry." Amanda says. I stare blankly at Amanda. She never says sorry cause she always thinks she's right. "It's fine honestly." I respond. "That's good. So we're best friends again?" Chelsea asks. I nod my head and hug them both in a group hug. Everybody was then dismissed and we went to our classes.

"No! That's not what I meant!" I say as me, Chelsea, and Amanda sat in my room. "I'm saying that some shows put labels on some people. Like, some books and songs put a label on black people as a whole. Because some black people are ghetto or in gangs and such and act like monkeys, the view all of us like that." I say. "That is true. That's why my mom didn't want me hanging out with you at first." Chelsea says. "Well I'm Russian so, you two have your own problems." Amanda says. "Yeah. Okay." I say. We laugh. Suddenly my phone rings. Amanda picks it up. "Mason." She says. Chelsea sucks her teethe and Amanda rolled her eyes. "What? Why yall act like this all the time?" I ask them. "Because. We just don't like Mason." Chelsea says. "I mean, yall make a cute couple, yeah, but Mason is bad and you're good." Amanda reminds me. "Plus, think about what your mom would say if she found out." Chelsea says. "You cannot date him. You can do better!" Amanda mocks my mom causing us all to giggle. "He's just not the one." Chelsea says. By the time our conversation was done, the call from Mason had ended. He had left a voicemail and everything. I thought about what they had said. Maybe me and Mason really aren't right for each other.
