Title: Breaking the Chains

---

Scene

The Great Hall falls silent, tension crackling in the air as two brothers face off near the Slytherin and Gryffindor tables. Students glance at each other, some whispering, others too stunned to look away.

Sirius Black, eyes blazing, glares at his younger brother. "You used to be so nice!" he snaps, his voice echoing off the high stone walls.

Regulus’s eyes narrow, his jaw set with a steely resolve. "No," he retorts, his voice calm but charged with a quiet strength. "I used to be a pushover and a people-pleaser. I let people like you walk all over me."

A murmur ripples through the hall, and Sirius’s face twists in confusion and anger, but Regulus isn’t finished. He steps forward, each word cutting sharper than the last. "But now I have boundaries and a little bit of self-respect. You don’t like me anymore because I’m not your personal doormat!"

The room is silent, students watching in awe and shock. Sirius opens his mouth to argue, but no words come, and for the first time, he looks uncertain, as though seeing his brother in a completely different light.

Regulus turns on his heel, walking away with his head held high, leaving Sirius to reckon with the brother who has finally learned to stand up for himself. The Great Hall buzzes again, but this time with a newfound respect for the younger Black, who has broken free from the shadows and chains of expectation.
