With preseason picking up for both Jasmine and Paige the two rarely saw each other outside of their shared psychology class. If the two weren't at class or practice they were at home doing homework or resting. Early morning lifts and post class practices were taking their toll on the girls. Paige had grown glum with Jasmine's recent absence, the two saw each other four times a week in their class but it wasn't true quality time since they had to learn and work on assignments.

Bright and early Jasmine met the rest of the softball team at the weight room in Gampel. Hailey and Sarah were just as excited as Jasmine was to lift, not at all. 
Coach Laura gathered the team to the front of the weight room and began talking.
"Today we are going to do something different, each of you will pair up with someone on the women's basketball team. If they ever show up. They should be here soon so I guess just wait for them to get here."
Sarah and Hailey immediately turned to Jasmine whose eyes were wide open. Jasmine wanted to rip her hair out. 
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Jasmine whispered to her friends who just giggled at her. 
"Are you gonna partner with her?" Sarah asked. 
"Of course I am. Are you nuts? I just want to shoot myself before she gets here so I don't have to be awkward." Jasmine said.
"All right ladies I just texted Coach Auriemma, he said they will be here in a few minutes." Coach Laura told the girls. 
All color drained from Jasmine's face and nerves began coursing through her body. Sure she saw Paige four days out of her week, but she was still nervous each time. 
The basketball girls slowly started to trickle in, Nika and KK coming in first. 
"Jasmineeeeeeee!" KK sings as she walks in, making everyone in the room wonder how she has so much energy at 5 am. 
"Hi KK! Hi Nika, how are you guys?" Jasmine said while walking over to the two girls to give them hugs. 
"I'm good, I haven't seen you in forever though." Nika said. 
"Ugh I know, we've all been so busy with preseason and classes."  Jasmine said. 
"I hate taking classes. I wish my major was just basketball. Anywayssss miss girl we all need to hang out soon." KK said as the three girls walked towards the middle of the room, the rest of the basketball team filing in. 
Paige walked in with Azzi and Aubrey, immediately spotting Jasmine talking with Nika and KK across the room. 
"All right everybody let's get started. First of all I just want to apologize for myself and my team running a bit late. Coach Laura and I have put all your workouts on the whiteboard. There is an even number of each of you so one basketball player with one softball player. If you don't know anyone, make a friend." Geno said to the girls in the weight room. 
"Hi Princess Jasmine." 
"Hi Paigey." Jasmine said turning around to face the blonde. 
"Do you wanna workout with me?" Paige asked while looking at the ground. 
"Yeah, what should we start with?" Jasmine asked while grabbing Paige's hand to walk towards the whiteboard. 
The pair began their workout, having side conversations between sets. 
"Hey will you spot me on this one?" Jasmine asked, getting ready to back squat. 
Paige hovered her hands next to Jasmine's back. Jasmine began doing her squats, lightly grunting as she continued her reps. Paige watched her, making sure she didn't need any help with the weight and watching Jasmine's  ass. 
Once Jasmine finished her reps she placed the bar back on the rack. Paige rested her hands on either side of Jasmine's back.
"Have you figured out where we're going to dinner on Saturday?" Jasmine asked, still facing away from Paige. 
"Yeah, Imma take you to a place called Summit House. It's pretty nice, not like fancy or anything but dress nice." Paige said. 
"Okay, and what are the vibes?" Jasmine asked, mentally cursing herself for having lack of better words. 
"Vibes?" Paige asked, not understanding what Jasmine was saying. 
Jasmine turned around to face Paige, the blonde sliding her hands down to Jasmine's waist. 
"Like, you know, us?" Jasmine said, hoping she wouldn't make anything awkward. 
Paige smirked at the brunette in front of her. Jasmine was radiating anxiety at this point. 
"Jasmine, I'm asking you on a date. Dress nice, I'm paying." Paige said while softly rubbing her tumbs back and forth on Jasmine's waist. 
Jasmine released a breath she didn't even know she was holding and a smile crept onto her face. 
"I'll be there." 
"I'd hope you'd be there, especially since I'm gonna pick you up." Paige said. 
"Okay shut up, your turn to squat now."
