what you'd do to me tonight

~!~ Hello and Happy Halloween!!!! I love this holiday so much, and I love our Ineffables so much that I just had to write some Halloween silliness. Enjoy! :)

Aziraphale had prompted the demon three days before Halloween.

"Do you know, my dear boy, what I might enjoy on Halloween night?" he had looked at the demon with heaps of angelic sweetness.

"What's that, angel?"

"I think it would be rather fun if... you made me scream..."

Crowley had been brainstorming ever since. He desperately wanted to satisfy his angel's Halloween wishes.

But... he was struggling. He knew for a fact that the angel had never found him that scary, not really. Not when you looked past the fear that comes with falling deeply in love with someone who is supposed to be your hereditary enemy.

Even in the past, during their Arrangement, when Crowley had simply tried to intimidate Aziraphale, it hadn't worked that well. Aziraphale was hard to intimidate, and now he wanted Crowley to make him scream?

The demon had his work cut out for him.

He couldn't go with his typical go-to for screams-- increasing his demonic features. (Particularly when as of late this had elicited a... different response from the angel.)

He had finally settled on the idea of a jumpscare. Those made people scream, right?

He curled himself up, hanging from the ceiling of the bookshop like a bat. He waited above the door to the backroom. Aziraphale frequently visited the backroom, so this would be the perfect location to sneak up on him. (And, if Crowley took a little bat-nap while lying in wait, it would do no harm.)

Finally, the opportunity presented itself. Aziraphale was headed to the back room! Crowley schooled his excited smile into an expression of spookiness as the angel got closer.

Aziraphale was reading as he walked. This was perfect! He had no idea Crowley was about to scare a scream out of him.

When Aziraphale was just about to be directly under him, Crowley suddenly lowered himself down.

"BOO!" Crowley shouted, his upside-down yellow eyes even with Aziraphale's still-reading ones.

"Hello, darling," Aziraphale replied, completely collected, not looking up from his book.

Crowley scowled. "Angel..." he groaned, dropping himself into Aziraphale's strong arms, making a quick demonic miracle to ensure the book was not damaged.

"Oh! Hello, Crowley!"

"Thank you, that's at least a little better," Crowley grumbled.

Aziraphale leaned to kiss his forehead. "What do you mean?"

"You seemed surprised when I fell on you, at least."

Aziraphale looked at him blankly, clearly not understanding Crowley's implication.

"I was trying to scare you."

"You were?"

"Yes!!"

"Oh... Why, my dear?"

"Because you said you wanted me to!" Crowley threw his head back in dramatic exasperation with his beloved angel.

"Did I?" Aziraphale asked, his brow furrowing perplexedly.

"Yes," Crowley emphatically agreed, "You asked me to make you scream on Halloween!"

"Oh!" Aziraphale perked up before looking sheepish. "Perhaps... a fright was not what I was looking for."

"Mmuh?" now it was Crowley's turn to look perplexed.

"I... I was rather thinking... well... I had other circumstances in mind wherein you could. Make me scream." Aziraphale blushed, having come closer to spelling himself out than he liked to.

"Angel. What other circumstances would make you scream on Halloween?" Crowley asked bluntly.

Aziraphale raised his eyebrows. "Crowley. Consider it just a tad more."

Crowley shrugged incredulously in Aziraphale's arms.

Aziraphale's incredulity surpassed Crowley's. "What could you do. For me. That would make me scream? Without regard to Halloween."

Crowley's eyes widened as understanding dawned upon him. Then a grin stretched wide across his face. "I can certainly do that for you, angel."

Aziraphale smiled hopefully. "Yes? Are you certain we are on the same page?"

Crowley rolled his eyes. "Yes, of course. I know you want me to bake you some Halloween treat that is so good you'll scream," he smirked, pleased with himself.

"Crowley!" Aziraphale huffed at the teasing.

The demon cackled. "Take us to bed, angel! I'll show you my comprehension there," he looked up at Aziraphale with inciting eyes.

"You can walk, you know," teased.

"But I don't have to when I have a strong angelic guardian to carry me!"

Aziraphale's eye-roll was imbued with begrudging adoration. "If you insist, my love."

~!~ Canonically, they wear costumes and do bad roleplay after this. I DO get to make the rules and that is what happens. Happy Halloween! I hope you enjoyed this little ficlet :)
