Being on bedrest wasn't so bad.

Most of her time, she spent sleeping. The pain medication always left her feeling drowsy. AZI urged her to get as much rest as she could, especially as she battled off the last of her infection.

On her second day, Rex stopped by to say hello. Saedii could tell he was still disappointed in her for sneaking away and running off the Kamino without him, but when she tried to apologize, he brushed it off.

"Just glad that you're alright," he said, gruffly. And left it at that.

The Batch took turns sitting with her. Omega and Wrecker always brought things with them, spreading tiles across her legs as they played memory games, card games, and a few others that Saedii had never learned before. Another night, Omega sat at Saedii's side and practiced braiding her hair, under Saedii's guidance.

Tech's visits were always the most colorful. He had taken her prosthetic as a personal challenge and was popping in at least once an hour to take measurements and ask her questions. When he finally brought in the first prototype for her to try, he already had a whole list of improvements for a second model.

Putting on the prosthetic was...unsettling. Tech designed it so that it responded to her unconscious brain signals. In theory, it would function just as a normal arm would. And it did, which was refreshing. The first time she put it on, as soon as she wanted to wiggle her fingers, it responded.

But it was also different. Having it there, moving and reacting just like her real arm, made her forget for a moment that it wasn't flesh and bone. Brushing her fingers over it and feeling nothing was such a jarring feeling that she nearly took it off then and there.

It would take time, Tech promised her. While she'd never feel what she could with a real arm, she'd be able to use it like a real arm. That was all that mattered, anyways.

In the times that Saedii wasn't playing games or sleeping or testing her prosthetic, Teth was quiet. There were no sounds of ships coming and going, no hum from a distant city. Every now and then, there would be voices in the hall, but they were always too low to make out.

There was something...off about Teth, though. Saedii couldn't quite tell what it was. Once she was switched off from her pain medication, and she was able to feel into the Force again, she noticed that there was a faint disruption here. Not like what she'd felt with the Inquisitors, but something different – light and warm and airy.

It almost felt like...someone else was tapping into the Force.

Her suspicions were further raised when, one night, long after Echo had fallen asleep in the chair beside her, she heard a woman's voice from the hall. One that she was sure she'd heard before.

"How is she?"

"Getting stronger every day," Hunter's voice responded.

There was the creak of leather boots. Someone adjusting their weight. "When she's better, we want to see her."

"You will," Hunter promised. "Just...give her some time. She's lost a lot. All of this – it's going to be overwhelming."

"I understand," the woman said reasonably. "We can wait as long as she needs. Her healing is our priority."

"Thank you, Commander."

Saedii tried to bring up this mystery woman to Omega the next day, but her young friend merely shrugged it off. "I haven't seen any women around. Just Clones."

And even though Saedii was sure that Omega was hiding something, she let it go. Whatever was going on, she'd figure out eventually.

Finally, after more than two weeks in bed, AZI gave Saedii clearance to get off bedrest. By then, she'd had a few chances to stand and walk around. Nothing too far, as she was still weak. This time, she told AZI she wanted to leave the room and explore – a request that made him nervous.
