Yosuke's POV:
God, how am I supposed to talk to Yu about all this with Teddie and Kanji in the way?
I mean... C'mon! We don't all gotta sit around in this damn room forever, right!?
Teddie's watching TV; Kanji's texting Naoto and... Dammit, Yu's sat opposite me beneath the kotatsu, shuffling a deck of cards in his hands.
He looks so concentrated that it's both frustrating and adorable at the same time.
"So," I clear my throat, crossing my arms over my chest. "You guys wanna head down to the hot springs?"
"Yes!" Teddie beams, scrambling out his futon and to his feet. "Yes! I do!"
Ignoring him, I keep my eyes on Yu. "What about you, man?"
"Maybe," he murmurs, laying the cards out in front of himself. "I'm gonna go check on Nanako beforehand, though."
"She's with the girls," Kanji shrugs, lifting his face from his phone. "She'll be fine, Senpai."
Regardless, he pushes up to his feet. Well, of course he does. This is Yu we're talking about, here. Brother of the year.
"I'll come with you," I offer, standing up beside him.
He blinks before shaking his head. "No, no. That's alright."
He's turning me down? Is he for real?
I need, like, two minutes alone with him. Why can't he just give me that, for crying out loud?
"Alright," I grunt, sinking back to the floor. "Whatever."
He's gonna say something. Maybe an apology? Maybe... I don't know. Whatever.
But, nope. He just ties up his robe and heads out of the room.
What the hell is his deal?
I'm giving into him. Isn't that what he wants?
Then it hits me. He wants to go alone so he can call loverboy Kohaku.
Damn.
I mean... Damn. He can't even tell me straight out, can he?
Make sense, I guess. Probably thinks I'd make fun of him, or something. But I wouldn't. Not anymore, at least.
Geez. I'm such a shitty friend.
