They all cheered for the other Catalysts, but not for them.

They didn't mind. They never liked being the center of attention.

But they couldn't help feeling that their achievements were always eclipsed by one of the others.

They wanted to be loved too.

***

It felt like all of their light was being consumed by the Darkness.

They struggled to keep shining, but eventually it covered them.

They had no control over what they did now.

At least they didn't have to keep pretending as it tore down what they had carefully constructed from false smiles and plastic candles.

***

It was going to end here.

He left them for dead, their blood pooling beneath them as they stared at the darkening sky.

The clouds covered the sun as their friend caused the sky to cry with them.

***

They blocked each strike of the spear with their staff, laser focused.

They couldn't keep the weapon of the Captain of the Colorless Guard away forever.

His spear cleanly sliced their mask in half.

The halves dropped into the grass as Light's face gave a rare show of emotion.

They guessed he would be shocked.

"You- They said you died!" He lowered his spear, shocked as they expected.

"I probably should have." They picked up one half of the mask and held it to their face.
"But I've seen what the Leaders have done without me. They don't care about the others. Only Orange and Violet wish to protect them." A green eye glared out of their uncovered half.

"And I've seen that the Rainbow Kingdom needs to see a true eclipse."
