Within the faculty room of Beacon Academy were three men occupying a table near the coffee and tea. These three men were the newest teachers at the prestigious school, having just completed their first week of classes. It was an interesting experience to be sure, educating youngsters in the ways of being a superhero or in this case, Huntsmen and Huntresses.
Sam was writing down some notes regarding team-building exercises when he heard a slight creak on the chair to his right. The Falcon glanced over at the leader of the Avengers, Steve Rogers, reclining back in his seat with a frustrated sigh escaping the Captain, running his hand through his blond hair a moment later.
The aviator took a glance at Hawkeye, catching the archer's eye and the pair shared a brief silent conversation.
Clint: Something on your mind, Cap?
Steve: *sips coffee* I dunno. Just a lot on my mind, I guess.
Sam: Really? Couldn't tell with you sighing up a storm there.
Steve: Was it that noticeable?
Clint: Hard to miss every ten seconds. *Steve grunts* Spill, what's on your mind?
Steve: Lots of things.
Sam: Like~~?
Steve: Typical things in our situation. Just distracting myself with our present occupation.
Clint: What constitutes a typical thing in any situation in our line of work?
Steve: *snorts* Good point.
Cap propped his arms up on the table, one of his fingers sliding a paper back and forth.
Steve: Just... I guess I'm still not used to being a teacher is all.
Sam gave his friend a weird look/smile, scoffing in slight amusement.
Sam: Not used to it? Cap, it's only been a week.
Clint: Is that really what's troubling you?
Steve: *shrugs* Kinda, yeah.
Clint: Is that all?
Steve: Well, not entirely but it is on my mind a lot. We do have our course work, but my mind keeps drifting back to boot camp back in the war.
Clint: Boot Camps? *shakes head* Cap, these are kids, not soldiers.
Sam: Who are being trained to fight monsters. So... kinda but not really.
Clint: Is this really bothering you that much, Cap?
The super soldier crossed his arms in thought.
Steve: I guess it is. I didn't really get a chance to think about it but... I feel like I need to do more. Way more than what's expected of me. This isn't like just training soldiers or what we did when the team reformed after Sokovia.
Sam: Well, I think that's your problem, Steve. You're overthinking it. You overthought then and you're doing it now. That's not how Captain America does things.
Steve: And how should Captain America, a school teacher, do things?
Clint: Take things one step at a time, Cap. You can't meet such expectations so quickly. They don't equate to reality.
Steve: Speaking from experience?
Clint: When I got into SHIELD, my missions, met my wife and had a family then joined the Avengers.
