Tyro had never imagined a day like this. He stood there, looking around the strange arena they had found themselves in—an arena of twisted metal and objects that pulsed with the same transformative energy that had taken his boyfriend, Thero, just days ago. Or was it weeks? Time had blurred since that moment. Thero, or rather Thermometer, was no longer the man he loved, not physically. He had become something else entirely. And now it was Tyro's turn.

A pit formed in his stomach as he glanced down at his hands, trembling slightly. The same energy that had swept through Thero, reshaping him into an object, now loomed over him like a cloud, ready to descend. Tyro could feel it creeping toward him, the air thick with the tension of impending change.

"Tyro..." Thero—Thermometer—spoke softly from beside him, his voice shaky but still filled with the warmth that Tyro knew so well. "It's going to be okay."

But was it? Tyro wasn't sure. He wasn't sure of anything anymore. He had watched his boyfriend change into something completely foreign—his body elongating into the shape of a thermometer, the bright red liquid inside marking his internal heat. Thermometer still looked at him with the same love, the same care, but it wasn't the same. Their connection was different now, altered in ways Tyro couldn't fully comprehend.

And now... it was happening to him.

He could feel the energy begin to seep into his skin, a cold tingling sensation crawling up his arms. The sensation was strange, like an electric current buzzing beneath the surface. Tyro clenched his fists, trying to push back the fear that gnawed at him. But it was too late. The transformation had already begun.

His legs stiffened first, locking in place. He could feel the bones shift, the muscles compressing and rearranging themselves as the once-familiar structure of his body began to break apart. His feet started to round, flattening into rubbery circles that fused into one solid piece. Tyro stumbled slightly, struggling to stay upright as his lower body became less human and more... tire.

His mind raced, but there was no stopping it. He could feel his torso beginning to curve, the flesh and bone hardening into a thick, rubbery shell. His hands followed, curling into stiff ridges along the edges of his new form. His arms—his arms were gone now, retracted into his body, replaced by the smooth round shape of a tire. Tyro gasped, trying to reach out, trying to hold onto something, anything. But there was nothing to hold onto anymore.

He was changing.

The world seemed to spin around him, faster and faster, until he realized it wasn't the world—it was him. His entire body had become a large, rolling circle, the rubber of the tire stretching and pulling into shape. His face began to warp next, the features fading as the cold grip of transformation stole away his humanity piece by piece. His eyes were the last to go, dimming into the smooth, dark surface of the tire.

And just like that, Tyro was gone.

He wasn't sure how long he stood there—if standing was even the right word anymore. But when the transformation finally stopped, and the world came back into focus, he realized he wasn't standing at all. He was... rolling.

He tried to speak, to call out to Thermometer, but no words came. Just the soft hum of rubber against the ground as he moved.

Tyro was gone.

All that remained was Tire.

And for the first time, he understood what Thero had been trying to say. It was going to be okay. They were different now, yes—forever changed—but they were still together, still connected by the bond they had shared. Tire rolled over to where Thermometer stood, his smooth surface reflecting the faint glint of light that illuminated the arena.

Thero, now fully Thermometer, smiled softly. "I told you it'd be okay," he whispered.

And for the first time since it all began, Tyro—or rather, Tire—felt a sense of calm. A strange new calm in this bizarre, twisted reality. They were no longer who they used to be. But they were still together. And somehow, that was enough.

And then they lost their memories. Returning to that same familiar field.

But before they fully lost themselves to Thermometer and Tire, Thero, had one last message.

He spoke.

"Some sunny day, we will meet again."

-Thero.
