"You totally sounded jealous, girl." Said Sasha only a week later. Her and I are out at the mall. She had gotten permission to take me out since it was the weekend and she really wanted to get me something nice since the so-called wedding was on the way. It felt weird buying myself something that Riley would be able to see me in later. I winced at the fact that I was being forced to do this. I didn't even want to get married. I didn't even want to be his mate. Yet my refusal makes it all the more hotter for the entitled asshole. Sasha was humming while looking through rows of make-up that would look nice on me. I don't think I look good in make-up to be honest. It was something that I would rather stay away from. I get called a 'slut' each time I wear it. Sadly as it is. I get body shamed a lot because I don't eat as much as I am supposed to.
"I'm going to say it again, one last time, Sasha. I, Stephanie Myrtle. Am NOT jealous." I confirmed and she was giving me that well known look she is always known to give me. "C'mon hunny, last time you got jelly over a guy was when you found out he was taken. And Riley isn't taken. Not yet."
"Don't think that this means anything, Sasha. I really don't care to marry a guy who just wants my pussy just to bear him a heir. I don't want to bare his-" I get cut off by her putting a dress in front of me. Then an elderly woman with gray in her hair came over. "My, my, doesn't that look lovely. Here. Why don't you go to the fitting room and try it on?" She questioned. And I forced a smile on to look as polite as I could muster. Thanking her, taking the dress into my hands. Wandering away into the changing room only to bump into another girl. Of course, it was Samara. "Watch where you're going, freak." She said with an attitude. "Sorry." I say, as kind as I could make it out to be. But she just scoffed. "You better be. I'm more important than you." I heard her voice, and it was starting to annoy me. I so badly wanted to rip her head off and feed it to the birds. "What's with the dress? Going on a date?" She asked, and I stayed quiet. Not knowing how to respond. "Oh that's right. You aren't in love, I forgot. How silly of me. You must feel clumsy for going out and getting a dress for NOTHING." She thinks she was being smart about talking to me with sarcasm. But I was just as crude when it came to sarcasm. "I'm so scared." I say, sarcastically. I went to walk away then to be grabbed by my hair. She had the nerve to do this. In public? If she wants a fight then she's got one. I wasn't in the mood to deal with her shit. She was just one of those normal girls I wished I was like. But her? Much less like. I loudly snarled at her, baring my teeth at her as if it were like I were to bite her. She screamed and let me go. Sasha heard the scream and made it all the way over to the changing room.
"This bitch tried to bite me!" Samara shouted at one of the women who worked there. "Not gonna lie, but it looked like you threw the first punch." Said the younger woman. Sasha came over and checked up on me, "you okay?"
"I'm FINE." I say. Going into the changing room, closing the blind. Sitting down and I was now in tears. That bitch will ever regret the day she handled me like I was one of her toys. "Steph. Girl, I'm coming in. Samara. Go back to where you came from. You can't just attack someone out in public like that." Sasha nagged. "Oh come on. She literally started it. I told her I liked her dress and she totally dismissed that I even existed. What a prude."
Now Sasha's had enough. She snarled and it rumbled the floor.
After everything went down, I finally came out of the changing room in said dress. Sasha's attention went from Samara and then to me. "Wow, girl! You look so gorgeous! He's definitely gonna love it!" Her smile then turned into a frown. I wasn't taking the compliment. I just wanted to go home. Away from here. I hated every moment of this. This was supposed to be fun? Right. Like I believe that. "Samara. C'mon. I want both my girls to get along so we can party later. Unless of course, you wanna be uninvited?"
Samara then sighed and walked over to us. The elder woman who was as sweet as pie earlier on walked over to me and held my hands in hers. Looking me in the eyes. "You look so beautiful. You don't deserve anything better than it, my dear." She whispered. I couldn't help but smile. But what is even a smile nowadays? I didn't know if it was real or fake anymore. "Thank you.." I said, softly. My eyes were glossy and she smiled with such kindness. Her heart must be pure. "Go ahead and take the dress home, dear. I'll pay for it in full."
