Young Kitty's Perspective
"Thank you for staying with me, Sylus." I say with genuine gratitude in my voice, while he still holds my wrists tightly. I can feel the heat from his hands seeping into mine. We both are still sitting on the floor and the cool, hard surface beneath us intensifies the warmth of Sylus's hands on my skin.
Our gazes are entwined, and it seems that none of us is able or willing to break the intense moment. "Anytime, Kitty." He whispers back, his words sending a shiver down my spine.
It's as if a magnetic force is pulling me towards him as I can't resist leaning in closer. Our faces are only inches apart as he moves even closer. One of his hands trails from my wrist up to hold my neck, his fingertips caressing lightly the skin on my arm on his way up. I feel goosebumps rising where his featherlight touch brushes against me.
His other hand meanwhile grabs my chin, gently tilting my head slightly backwards so that we're looking directly at each other. Our faces are so close now that I can count his eyelashes while I stare into his eyes that glow like rubies. The warmth of his breath wafts over my cheeks, and I unconsciously breathe deeper to inhale his addictive scent.
I close my eyes in anticipation as his lips are hovering only millimeters apart from mine, my heart pounding hard in my chest as I wait for the moment I've been dreaming of for an eternity.
Young Sylus's Perspective
I am completely captivated by you at this moment. Your eyes are closed, your lips parted just slightly, and I can feel the quickening of your breath as you wait for me to close the distance between us. I savor the feeling of your soft skin under my fingers and the sweet scent of your hair as it wafts over my face. Your lips are so close to me that I can almost taste you.
I am about to press my lips on yours, but suddenly the perfect moment is shattered as the door slams open, jolting us both out of our intimate bubble. I quickly turn around to see Dr. Bitch entering the room and my expression turns to annoyance and anger. That woman really has the worst of timing.
As I realize that she is accompanied by two men in black suits, which both carry heavy guns on their waist, I sense danger. My protective instincts kick in. My body immediately tenses up and instinctively moves in front of you, to shield you from their view. "What do you want?" I demand, my voice low and dangerous.
"Get ready. We will leave in 15 minutes. It's time for the next step of your training." Her cold voice cuts through the atmosphere like a knife, eliminating all remaining romantic feelings lingering in the air, leaving only a sense of threat.
Young Kitty's Perspective
Sylus and I are exchanging a meaningful gaze. What does she mean, we are leaving? In all those years, we were never able to or even just allowed to set one single foot outside of this facility. Unlike Sylus, I have spent my entire life within these walls since I was a baby. The only glimpses I have of the world outside are through pictures in books or on screens. The thought of leaving now, after all this time, is both exciting and terrifying. I can feel getting sick and my stomach clenches in anxiety.
"What's going on?" I whisper to Sylus as we walk beside each other following behind the three figures before us. My voice shakes slightly in worry as I glare at the weapons hanging from the men's waists. Why have they to be armed in the first place? As we walk down the silent hallway the only sounds hearable are the footsteps of boots echoing through the freezing air around us and a chill of uneasiness runs down my spine. I am getting a very bad foreboding, and my body starts to shake uncontrollably.
Suddenly, I feel his hand grabbing mine, holding it in a tight grip. "Don't worry, Kitty. No matter what, I will be here with you." I feel his warmth breath near my ear as Sylus speaks softly, so only I can hear his whisper. He gently squeezes my hand in reassurance, and I can feel the calluses on his fingertips due to playing the guitar.
