❝YOU'RE DEFINITELY SOMETHING ELSE, KITTEN.❞
HAYLEY WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING WITH A HEADACHE THAT WOULDN'T SEEM TO GO AWAY. Her eyes were blurry as she ate breakfast, and Charlie had nearly made her ride with Bella if it hadn't been for her fleeing the house before he could take her keys. She would surely get scolded for that later.
For now, though, she sat in first period, her head down and eyes shut as she willed the throb in her head to go away. She didn't know what caused it, maybe it was delayed jetlag or perhaps it was just a small headache from everything that had happened yesterday. Hayley didn't dwell on it much though, only scolded herself for not taking any medicine before she had left the house.
She didn't even hear Alice sit down beside her.
"Are you okay?" At the sound of the Cullen girl's voice, Hayley turned her attention towards her desk partner. Alice's golden eyes stared back at her with concern.
"Yeah." Hayley raised up, stretching and letting out a loud yawn. "It's just a headache, it will go away soon."
"Good." The golden-eyed girl nodded as a bright smile appeared on her face. "I was wondering if you wanted to go Prom dress shopping with me and Rosalie. I know it's like months away, but it's always nice to have options."
Hayley softly grinned at Alice's words. "I was going to go with Angela and Jessica, but I can always go with you and Rosalie on another day. To be honest I figured you and your family would hate me after yesterday."
But Alice just waved her off. "Eh, Edward has always been a little...off putting, but I think it's sweet how you stood up for your sister."
"That's my job." The oldest Swan sister replied instantly.
Protecting Bella had been something she had done since they were children. Boy pulled Bella's hair. Hayley would use her safety scissors to give him a new haircut. Girl's made Bella cry in Middle school? Hayley would be sure to make them cry and ruin their lives before the end of the day.
