CHAPTER 3 PART 1

(Kaiser's POV)

"Hello?" A female voice can be heard from the opposite line. I took the moment to listen to her voice calling out for me as I slowly placed the phone beside my ear. "Y/N, sorry I missed your call earlier. I was actually on a call with someone else." I explained as the car came to a stop. I realized we just arrived at the headquarters as the guards in front of the building were stationed by the entrance of the car.

"Oh! I didn't mean to disturb you, sorry~!!" I felt a pang of guilt from her voice which made me scoff, giving me a smug look on my smile. One of the guards opened the car door as they all waited for me to step out. "Don't worry! I'm glad you called, you need something?" I got out with my assistant behind me following along as one of the men drove the car elsewhere. We all got inside as I waited for Ego to meet me in the lobby. "I just wanted to see if you arrived home safely.. It's past midnight!" How cute.. I never thought she would be the one to call first but I guess I was wrong. I snickered at the thought as I let myself sit down. My assistant stood beside me, eyeing the phone I was holding.

"I just got home actually. It was too cold outside for me to handle~" I let out a little chuckle, I could hear Y/N doing the same as well. Looking back, you would never have thought that the Y/n from highschool was this interactive with someone like Kaiser. I wonder how she will react when she finds out.. "That's good.." Y/N mumbled followed by silence after, making me appreciate her more. She called for an update and now she doesn't know what to say, how engaging this is. A sound of footsteps distracted me as I looked over to where the noise came, it was Ego along with the men from earlier. He had that smirk that I wanted to rip it off his face for so long. I stood up as he slowly approached, "Right! Remember when you worked as a bartender for a nightclub that's near the office?" Y/N started recalling the conversation we had earlier. Right, I told her I worked near her place. I scoffed to myself, "Yeah?" Ego noticed that I was on a call with someone, judging from my expressions. He acknowledged my presence as we all walked to the meeting room, "Why, wanna meet up?" The grin on my face reached almost ear to ear, getting a hint of what she's saying. "Mhm, y'know like a reunion." I can tell how embarrassed she felt after that, how endearing. Behind me, I see my assistant and Ego discussing something. I looked over them as they signal that those disloyal ruffians are in the boardroom. Good, "But I can only go after 6pm. I have to interview someone." She added. Right, I think I know what these are for. I can hear the way she shifts on her bed from the phone which made me smirk. I didn't know a serious and hardworking person like her had a side like this. Oh, how I want to see that side more. "Alright, we can just go to the cafe if you want. It's closer so you don't have to struggle as much." I suggested. I noticed that we stopped at our tracks. I looked over to the guards who were stationed outside the room as we entered. I see the 3 lunatics sitting comfy on the provided seats along with my other men. I specifically told my assistant to not tell them the reason for the meeting, seeing how clueless they were as they gathered. Ego stayed by the door inside the room as he closed the door, making a noise. "Oka- oh was that your door?" Y/N pointed out as I glared over at Ego, startling those seated. Ego just shrugged as he waited. "Yeah, I'm gonna go eat. See you tomorrow." I smiled sincerely as I put the phone down after Y/N said goodbye. I sighed as I turned to everyone as they all looked over to me.

(Y/N's POV)

The call ends. I squirmed on my bed late at night after hearing his voice, getting up as I walked to my desk. I sat down for a while as I opened my laptop. "Right, I should double check the report before I pass it tomorrow." I realized as I immediately disregarded my fatigue. So long, a perfect goodnight's sleep, I'm gonna miss you... I sobbed internally as I opened my files that I was so sick of seeing.

After a while of taking notes, I noticed that I would need a folder for this. I got out of my seat and opened the drawers, hoping I have some left. As I removed everything, I noticed a photo from my highschool days. I also found a folder just above it too, I can't tell if it's luck or a bad omen since I somehow found one of my past. It was a photo of the class before we graduated. I looked over to my old self, "God, I look depressed." I chuckled as my eyes wandered to Kaiser.

"You have the same stoic face but your personality changed." I smiled to myself, reminiscing how we were back in highschool. I suddenly remembered my dream where me and Kaiser made eye contact before parting. I wonder if he also had something to say.. I snapped back in reality as I recalled I had a report to finish. I stood up from the ground after neaten the area, leaving the portrait that I found right by my desk for me to see. I went back to my usual routine, glancing at the clock at the same time.

(Kaiser's POV)

Everyone stayed quiet as I settled down in my own seat. As planned, my assistant gives me documents of the recent deals and transactions made this week. He then handed them to me to inspect before giving them out to everyone. Due to the latest killings made, it was obvious that these people would think the meeting was about that since it was the most recent. "I'm sure every single one of you knows by now that nothing of this will be exposed outside the company, right?" My assistant beside me reminded everyone as I waited for their stupid minds to realize the situation they brought to themselves. I leaned forward as I watched each one of them break a sweat as panic slowly sets in.

Suddenly, one of 3 stood up as their eyes widened, looking at everyone with those revolting eyes. My eyes shifted towards him as the person to his left started pointing a gun at the distressed man. "Is there something wrong?" He looked at me as everyone else got startled. "Shit!" He backed away as the other two stood up pointing a gun at their own. My assistant as well as Ego just watched intently. I stood up as I approached the three, passing those I don't give a care with. "S-stay right there, Kaiser!" One of them yelled out as they fired a bullet which I so happened to dodge easily. It's easy to read a nervous person's actions. I pulled out my gun from my coat, blasting a bullet straight through his head. Everyone in the room was alarmed as their hands trembled. The body landed onto both of them, making them stumble against each other.

"I wonder if the drugs are still fresh in your system. I just know you two couldn't just let the opportunity pass by, slapsoils." The noise of multiple bullets shot and screams filled the room. Everyone watched as their bodies were no longer moving, their filthy blood mixing with each other as it made a puddle. I lowered my hand after emptying the gun, turning away as I walked back to my assistant. "Discard the bodies." He nods immediately as he walks up to the still traumatized men by the conference table. Instantly, I remembered that Y/N does reporting and interviewing as a job? I wonder how long she will find out. I smirked at the thought as I called out, stopping them from their tracks.

"Discard them where people can see. I'm sure I don't have to remind every single one of you, just do your jobs like how I ordered you to." I sighed as I let them go, leaving my assistant and Ego left in the room. The guards who were left outside the meeting room stood still, I'm sure what happened inside was heard here as well. The security followed behind us as I looked at the time, it was late. I hope she doesn't tire herself out~. I walked out of the room as the two followed, "I didn't know you would kill them right there. I even prepared the basement for you, Kaiser." Ego sighed as he rubbed his temples. My assistant chuckles, he didn't anticipate it either. "Right, but why showcase the body?" He questioned my decision as I immediately thought of her. It was the first time ever that I ordered them to do that. My father used to have different methods too but it seems people turned to ease after I inherited his position. Father died 2 years ago so I have been managing this company since. Dealing with drugs isn't easy. Never in my life have I taken any but I'm still disgusted by the amount of people who go out their ways to purchase, some of them were even millionaires. How sickening. "He didn't think before pointing that gun at me." I answered Ego's curiosity as we left the premises. The car was stationed just near the area as we walked back before Ego went back in along with security. We eventually reached the car as he started it.

"I wanted to see how long it would take for her to figure things out." I said, getting the attention of my assistant. He smiled as he acknowledged my answer. I didn't answer him back then since Ego might bother me if he finds out. I don't want another series of nagging by Jinpachi.
