Alex
Mia , Allie and Jenna dragged me to the beach because there was apparently this awesome festival held there. My body stiffened at the sight of the stage set up before me . It read 'sing off duet'. I turned to my friends and tried to redirect them to another activity but the mischievous grins plastered on their faces told me to give up. They giggled at my defeated expression and pulled me to the table near the stage probably where you sign up to sing. My friends were always trying to get me to sing every chance they got. They claimed I never embrace the beauty of my voice . I signed up and reluctantly got on stage and waited for whoever was going to do the duet with me. I felt a bit better about being literally forced into this when I found out it was for charity.
Alex's POV
Will pushed me onto the stage after begging me to sing. I didn't mind singing but I did in front of a crowd of people. Much to my joy there weren't many spectators aside from three girls smiling widely at the one on stage , an old couple and a couple of kids so I wasn't really nervous anymore. My eyes landed on the girl standing at the centre of the stage waiting for me so we could begin. I got there and the 'host' had us pick a song from the bag he held out for us and asked for our names. I found out that the girl who appeared rather familiar was Y/N and she had a heartwarming smile and was adorably shy. The host handed us both mikes and turned his attention away from us to the spectators. "Greetings fellow inhabitants of the wonderful city of Durban we're so glad you could join us. This is Alex and Y/N and they'll be singing Somebody to you."He said with a broad smile before stepping off the stage.

Y/N's POV
I'd seen Alex around school but never paid him any mind. I didn't even know his name until today but I could say one thing about him he was undeniably H.O.T.
The music started in the background as he began his solo.

"Yeah you (times 2) "
"I use to wanna be living like there's only me,but now I spend my time trying to find a way to get you off my mind"
"Yeah you"
"I use to be so tough
Never really gave enough
And then you caught my eye
Giving me the feeling of a lightning star"

His voice sounded so beautiful yet edgy and rough at the same time. He sang his solo with his eyes fixed on you. Not wanting to break the stare you joined him in singing the chorus. Your voices harmonized together like you've done this a million times before. You then began your solo.

"I use to run around .
I didn't wanna settle down
But now I wake each day
Looking for a way that I can see your face."

"I've got your photograph but baby I need more than that.
I need to know your lips
Nothing ever mattered to me more than this "

I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks as a I sang the last two lines .
We sang the chorus again not once breaking our stare. It got cut when we heard clapping coming from the audience that must have accumulated whilst we were singing because I know it wasn't there in the beginning . I saw Allie and Jenna give me a thumbs up whilst Mia smirked at me and kept on mouthing he's hot and pointing at Alex . I laughed at them and got off the stage making my way to them . I was a few steps away from them when I felt someone tapping me lightly on the back I turned around and was met with the eyes I had been starring into for the past seven minutes. "Oh hey Alex . How may I help you?" I asked him with such confidence even though I felt my heart beating out of my chest. "Uh hi Y/N I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me some time." He asked with a hint of nervousness . "Sure I'd love to." I replied blushing.
We exchanged numbers and parted ways . I turned around to face my friends who I gathered from the curious/ nosy looks on their faces were ready to fire questions at me.
