MYRA'S POV
"Let's just sleep on the bed then, both of us."
Was I going to regret those words? Probably.
But did I have the power to go back in time and change them?
Definitely not.So, that one sentence of mine landed us in the situation that we currently were in and honestly, it wasn't too bad.
"Do you think both sides are equal now?" It was probably the fourth time I adjusted the placement of the two pillows that were supposed to divide the bed in two for the night.
Siddharth who stood beside the bed, holding two more pillows, let yet another sigh out. "For the love of the God pearl," His lips stretched into a forced smile. "A few inches here and there won't hurt."
"I don't want to take up too much space." Did I? Or was it just trying to delay and give myself a little more time to 'prepare' before we laid on the bed together?
"I won't mind if you do."
My heart skipped a beat at his response. I let my eyes wander around the room aimlessly.
Siddharth placed a pillow on each side of the bed. "Left or right?" He asked, placing both of his palms on either side of his waist.
I nibbled on my lower lip. "Uhh.....," My head tilted to the side as I stared at front. Both the sides looked equally comfortable.
"Did you think this much before agreeing to marry me?"
I rolled my eyes at his question before a chuckle broke out of me. "Actually no." I admitted, still chuckling. Siddharth shook his head with a silly smile.
"Right side." I randomly answered and both of us climbed onto each other's respective sides of the bed.
The moment we sat on the bed, with our back pressed against the large headboard, a bubble of awkwardness caged us in.
I drew weird shapes on my pyjamas with my finger, trying to find words that could break the ice. The only sound audible in the room of the ticking clock.
From the corner of my eyes, I caught a glimpse of Siddharth setting an alarm on the digital clock, which sat on the side table of his side of the bed.
The shuffling of the silky sheets was adding more pace to my already racing heart.
Siddharth also didn't look straight at me, it seemed he was trying to avoid eye contact as much as I was.
"Uhh..Goodnight.." "Uh..Goodnight?"
The same word, at the same time. Interesting.
Both of us diverted our gaze away from one another like how thieves hide from the cops. I cleared my throat and lowered the pillow that was behind my back.
Siddharth suddenly got up from his place, causing a line of confusion to appear on my forehead.
I almost subconsciously traced all his movements with my eyes. My breath hitched when he came to my side.
Calm the hell down, Myra!
I unknowingly fisted some of the fabric of the bedsheet. Every part of me stilled and I kept my eyes at the front, on my feet.
Siddharth arched his back and held the handle of the glass jug placed on my side of the bed at the short table. "I will just fill up water for the night."
