Eryx.

"I'll tell her and call you," I said to Aunt Susan over the phone.

"No pressure!" Aunt Susan replied, her voice reassuring. "Just bring her by someday soon, okay?"

I agreed, knowing I couldn't add to Adeline's already overwhelming schedule.

Yesterday's signing had made headlines.

"Fashion's New Face: Adeline Inks Contract with Elite"

It dominated every newspaper and media outlet.

I hesitated, unsure if I should bother her.

But I took a deep breath and dialed her number.

The phone rang, and I waited anxiously for her answer.

Adeline.

My house was filled with loved ones - parents, Emily and her family, Soph, and Liv.

This Saturday, they'd all decided to celebrate my contract signing.

I'd agreed, knowing things would get chaotic soon.

Between family and work, I might not have time for either.

Laughter and chatter surrounded me until my phone rang.

It's him.

"Hey!" I answered, smiling.

"Busy?" he asked.

"Nah, just family celebrating," I said, glancing around the room.

"When will you be free?" Eryx asked, his tone hinting at something more.

I stepped outside, away from the noise.

"I don't know. Why?" I asked, curiosity piqued.

"Told you about Aunt Susan," Eryx said. "She wants to meet you."

I sighed, anticipating complications.

What's this about? I wondered.

"When were you thinking?" I asked aloud.

"Where's your schedule looking clear?" Eryx rephrased.

I thought back to my chaotic calendar.

"Monday's my first somewhat-free day," I replied.

"Monday, then," Eryx confirmed.

"I'll pick you up at 6."

"Okay..." I agreed, a mix of trepidation and curiosity.

The call ended.

I stood alone outside, the evening air quiet.

Sunday afternoon, I hosted a small gathering at my apartment. A few close friends came over to celebrate my contract signing. We spent the afternoon laughing, sharing stories, and snacking on treats. I preferred intimate gatherings – anything bigger would be overwhelming.

Parties weren't really my thing, but I couldn't resist these few friends. We had a blast, and they left around evening.

The rest of Sunday was spent unwinding and preparing for the chaotic week ahead.
