"Viola, let's go! Let's go! I haven't been outside since we went hiking!" Seraphina called, her excitement barely contained as she moved to the front door.

Viola, still half-heartedly adjusting her scarf, looked up at her mother with a pout. "But you and you were whining the whole time up the mountain.

Is that why I don't get to go outside more?"

With a playful roll of her eyes, Seraphina ruffled her daughter's hair. "Are we leaving now, or what?"

"Y... yeah! About that..." Seraphina hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her face.

"Maybe we shouldn't risk-"

Before she could finish her sentence, she glanced out the window and saw clouds swiftly rolling in, cloaking the sky in a soft gray.

*Where did those clouds even come from?*

she wondered, her mind racing. *I guess the weather can change quickly.

Wait, this could be good! They don't look like storm clouds; they're blocking out the sun.

This must be fate.*

"Mommy, look! It's those puffy cotton candy things!" Viola exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.

Seraphina chuckled softly, shaking her head. "What's cotton candy?

Are you making up words again? Anyway, those are clouds."

"Clouds? But isn't it too cold for water to evaporate?" Viola asked, tilting her head in confusion.

"Evaporate? What are you even talking about?" Seraphina frowned, eyebrows knitting together.

"If water gets hot, it evaporates into the sky," Viola explained, her small hands gesturing animatedly.

"Then those puffy things form!"

Seraphina's heart warmed at her daughter's innocent imagination.

"Oh, that's so cute! Your imagination rivals mine when I was your age, you know."

She took a deep breath, shaking off her earlier hesitation.

"But anyway, it should be safe for us to leave, so let's go, hun."

"Yaaaaaa!" Viola jumped, her excitement palpable.

Seraphina opened the door, but was immediately greeted by a bone-chilling gust of wind that sent a shiver down her spine, snow swirling around them like tiny daggers.

"Brr!" She slammed the door shut behind her.

"What's wrong?" Viola's voice was laced with concern.

"Where I come from, it's permanently summer, so I'm really not used to this weather," Seraphina replied, wrapping her arms around herself to ward off the cold.
