“So he has eaten the pie and decided to say hi? Such a gentleman.” Ma chuckled bashfully after [Y] explained to her about his day with the monsters. “And you actually give your shark friend your goldfish?”
“She seems to like them since she's always alone underwater.” [Y] smiled.
“You're just too kind~ I'm glad I've raised you well.” Ma beamed, clasping her hands together. She then pulled on her son’s cheek, “My lil’ lambie is growing up~”
The young scientist whined, “I'm only gonna turn 20 in a few months, ma.”
“I know, I know. I promise to prepare the best dinner for you when the time comes~” Ma said. [Y] perked up, “Oh. You don't mind. It's the second month of February, right?”
“It is.”
“According to Sebastian’s profile that Barbara(eldest sister) gave me; his birthday is tomorrow, so I was hoping if you could help me bake a cake for him to celebrate his birthday tomorrow?” [Y] suggested. Ma’s eyes lit up, “Such a wonderful idea! Oh, you are such a great friend! Sebastian is lucky to have you!”
“Thanks, ma. Shall we?”
“Of course! Of course! Wash up first and prepare yourself~”

The next morning, Sebastian was dozing with his earplugs in his ears. He felt relaxed when listening to music on the music player given to him by the young scientist. Sebastian has yet to realize that it was his birthday until [Y] arrived.
“Happy birthday~” [Y] celebrated, causing Sebastian to jump when the young scientist entered with cake in hand. “Happy 21st birthday!”
“The fuck? It's my birthday? Wait— how the hell did you know it's my birthday?” Sebastian raised his eyebrows.
“Not important.” [Y] responded as he placed the cake on the nightstand next to Sebastian. He then grab a lighter to lit up the candles, “Make your wish~”
“...What's the deal of making a wish if it is not gonna come true?” Sebastian frowned. The young scientist smiled, “I'll make that wish come true. Just make a wish.”
“...You're still crazy…” Sebastian snorted before blowing out the candles. “There…”
“So? What's the wish?” [Y] asked.
“You know what it is.” The fishman chuckled softly.
“Ah~ That's your wish, huh? Don't worry, I'll do my best to make it come true~” the young scientist beamed. “Let's eat~”
“...My wish…is to make it out with you and be by your side.” Sebastian thought as he watched the young scientist cut a cake. “Geez. How did he even do this to me? Why must I feel this way? Every time he arrives, it doesn't feel lonely anymore.”
“Ah. Also~” [Y] beamed, grabbing something from his pocket then holding it out to Sebastian. “A guitar keychain~ Just keep it on your person~”
“...!” Sebastian blushed. “...Y…you don't need to.”
“I had to. We're friends, right?” The young scientist grinned.
“...” The fishman fidgeted, feeling his heart thumping. The feeling is getting big, but not big enough for Sebastian to fall for [Y] just yet. Right…?
“You're energetic. Too much energy that I can't handle.” Sebastian mumbled, but his tail was wagging slightly. He took the keychain from the young scientist, “Thanks. I'll treasure this.”
“Glad you enjoyed the gift. It made me think of you when I first saw the keychain since you played an electric guitar.” [Y] chuckled sheepishly while scratching the back of his head. Sebastian’s tail was wagging a little faster when the young scientist was thinking of him which made him secretly happy.
“Have you ever experienced dating?” Sebastian asked.
“No. I don't think I've ever thought about dating anyone before.” [Y] tilted his head. “And I don't think I'm interested in dating anyone.”
Sebastian's ears flop down and his tail stops wagging, “Oh…”
“But…” the young scientist trailed off, “...if I were to date someone. I would date you.”
It took only a split second for Sebastian's face to turn red and his tail began wagging aggressively in a joyful way. Why is he so happy?
“Oh? Are you interested in a guy like me? What about ladies?” Sebastian questioned.
“Any genders, but I'm more interested in you.” [Y] admitted. “I like you.”
“...Have you not realized that you confessed? Or are you doing that on purpose? Or maybe you see me only as a friend?” the fishman asked.
“I realized it. It wasn't on purpose and maybe…it isn't because I see you as a friend anymore.” The young scientist tilted his head to the side with a gentle smile on his face. “How would you react if I did say “I love you” instead of “I like you”, Sebby?”
Sebastian was bamboozled. When did this young scientist get this smooth?! This is an imposter! Imposter! The young scientist chuckled, “You seem confused. My brothers taught me how to “rizz” you up. Did it work?”
“...Of course not.” Sebastian lied. On the inside, he was covering his red face screaming on the inside, “I was surprised and confused!!! He doesn't even know what “rizz” is! He's too cute! What the hell?!”
“Darn. Well I tried. I was nervous when I expressed it.” [Y] blushed. “However, I was true about my words, tho.”
Sebastian patted the young scientist on the head, “Thanks for confessing, but you had to wait until I'm ready to say how I feel about you.”
“I can wait!✨” [Y] beamed with excitement.
“Besides, you're going a little too fast. I'm still trying to figure out my feelings for you, so wait until I finally open up about it.” Sebastian stated before turning his attention on the cake. “Let's just eat.”
“Oh. Me and ma baked it for you.” [Y] smiled.
“Oh? Then it probably won't be so bad then.”

Throughout the two months, Sebastian's feeling for [Y] was getting stronger. The monsters were becoming more and more attracted to [Y] because of his kindness. Eyefestation was enjoying her new sibling underwater so she didn't have to feel lonely anymore.
Sebastian was finally ready to confess to [Y], but…something seems to have happened…
