I sighed as I pulled out some books from my book shelf. On my couch laid a suitcase and clothes. I'd be gone for two days. I hadn't told Sonic yet...it came to a surprise for me too. 
                          
I got a message saying that I didn't to go off the island on a private mission. No one could come with me. I don't want to leave, but the mission seems important. 
                          
I have to catch up on my archeological skills, so I'm studying now. 
                          
Just as I opened the cover I heard a knock on the door. 
                          
"Amy! Are you home?" I heard Sonics voice. My heart dropped into my stomach as I looked at the suitcase. There was no where to hide it!
                          
"Uh...no-this is a-a voice recorded message!" I said as I looked for a place to hide my suitcase. 
                          
"Really Amy? Come on, let me in." He said to me. I growled at myself as I pushed my suitcase under my coffee table. 
                          
"Alright! Give me a minute!" I said and then looked in the hanging mirror by my door. I straightened up my quills then let him in. 
                          
"Thanks Ames, so was all the ruckus in here?" He asked as he sat down on my couch. He put his feet up on the coffee table. "It was nothing" I said as I narrowed my eyes at him. He knew I hated it when feet were on my furniture. 
                          
"Sorry Flower" Sonic grinned at me and placed his feet down. 
                          
"Flower? Who's Flower?" I asked him. "Uh-uh-nobody! It was a ni-" I put my hand up to stop him from continuing. I knew it was a nickname, but I needed him out. 
                          
"If you have this "Flower" on your mind then you can just go hang out with her." I said and stomped my foot. 
                          
"NO,NO,No,no,no!" Sonic grabbed my arm and turned me around. "It was a nickname! I promise! I wouldn't lie to you!" He said to me. "I love you and only you!" 
                          
I couldn't help it. He deserved to know where I was going.
                          
I sighed and I walked us to the couch. 
                          
"Sonic...I think you should know-"
                          
"Are we breaking up?!" Sonic asked me worriedly. "I'm not going through with this! I won't let you g-"
                          
"We're not breaking up! I'm leaving to go somewhere for a few days." I told him and pointed to the suitcase. "When are you leaving?" He asked me. "Tomorrow morning..." I told him. "What? How come I'm just hearing of this? Do the others know?" Sonic asked me. "No...they don't know. I just found out this morning. I'm not supposed to tell anyone, but I think you should know I'll be gone for about 2 days or more. That's all I can tel you..." I sighed. 
                          
"What? Is it dangerous? Why can't I come? I could help you!" Sonic said and held my hands. "Sonic, it's not the end of the world. It's just two days." I said and rubbed his ears.
                          
He purred and hugged me. "But what if something happens? Anything can happen, you know? What are you even doing?" He asked, but didn't let me go. 
                          
"I can't say" 
                          
He let out a sigh and released me. "I'll be here waiting...I guess..." 
                          
"Can you help me study?" I asked him and held up a book. 
                          
He put the puzzle together quickly and he grinned. "Yeah, I can help you study!" He wrapped his arms around me and I sat in his lap.
                          
"So...when you're on this archeological assignment...who are you going to be with?" Sonic asked me. 
                          
I shrugged, even I didn't know that much. 
                          
"What am I going to tell the others?" He asked me.
                          
"That I went on a self vacation." I told him. "Alright..." 
                          
It was silent for a minute as we both read. 
                          
"Will you miss me?" Sonic asked. 
                          
"Of course I'll miss you!" I told him and kissed his nose. "Now help me study." 
                          
He grinned and nodded.
