His family members looked taken aback, their expressions softening slightly."But why keep it a secret?" Mr. Ibrahim's sister-in-law asked, her voice tinged with annoyance. "Why didn't you tell us? We're your family!"
Mr. Ibrahim looked at her firmly.
"Because we didn't want to put Alina through the same things Yujin went through," he said. "We didn't want her to grow up feeling like she was less than anyone else since she was adopted just as Mina and Sana Behaved And Did To yujin"His family members looked at him in silence for a moment, their expressions conflicted.
There was a moment of tense silence as Mr. Ibrahim's family members absorbed his words. Finally, Mr. Ibrahim's mother spoke up, her voice gentle."I understand your concerns, son," she said, her tone understanding. "But keeping it a secret from us...it just doesn't feel right."
Mrs. Ibrahim, still standing silently by her husband's side, felt a pang of guilt. She knew they had made the decision to protect Alina from the prejudices they had experienced.
Mr. Ibrahim looked at his mother, his expression firm but empathetic. "I know it's not ideal," he said. "But we did what we believed was best for Alina. We wanted to shield her from the judgment and negativity we've faced."
Some of Mr. Ibrahim's family members looked conflicted, their expressions a mix of disappointment and understanding. They knew the struggles Yujin had faced, and they understood why Mr. Ibrahim and Yujin might have felt the need to keep Alina's adoption a secret.
Mr. Ibrahim's brother spoke up, his voice measured. "I can understand why you did it," he said. "But it still feels hurtful, you know? We're a family, and we should have been told."
A murmur of agreement came from some of the other family members, but Mr. Ibrahim remained steadfast.
Mr. Ibrahim took a deep breath, his expression calm but resolute. "I get that you're upset, but we made this decision to protect Alina," he said firmly. "We didn't want her to suffer the same pain and judgment that Yujin faced."
Mr. Ibrahim's sister-in-law looked at him, her expression still tinged with irritation. "But you could have at least trusted us with the information," she said.
Mr. Ibrahim's expression softened slightly, but he didn't waver. "We wanted to keep her life as normal as possible," he said. "We didn't want her to feel different or inferior because she was adopted."
Mr. Ibrahim's mother spoke up again, her voice soft but firm. "I understand your concern, son," she said. "But keeping secrets from family isn't healthy. It creates a barrier between us."
Mr. Ibrahim looked at his mother, his expression conflicted. He knew she had a point. "I know, Mom," he said, his voice quieter. "But we were so afraid of the reactions, the judgment. We didn't want Alina to grow up with the same prejudices that Yujin faced."

After Elena went to her room, Mr. Ibrahim stayed lost in his thoughts. He looked at a picture frame of Mrs. Ibrahim - his late wife and Elena's mother - and smiled sadly."She reminds me so much of you, my love," he whispered to the picture. "She looks exactly like you." He shakes his thoughts away and takes out his phone from his pocket
He then made a phone call to his assistant, his voice firm and cold. "Get the jet ready," he said. "We're leaving for Korea on Wednesday. Make sure everything is prepared for Elena - her university and dorm arrangements."
It was late at night, and Elena was lying in bed Her soft silky hair spreadEd on her pillow as she talked to her boyfriend Mike over the phone. Mike was in Korea, and Elena was excited to tell him that she had decided to join him and enroll in the same university as him. She couldn't wait to start a new chapter in her life with him by her side.
"Yeah, I'll be there on Wednesday," Elena says, smiling as she twirls a strand of her hair. Mike is lying on his bed, shirtless, and Elena notices a lipstick and chapstick-type item on the side table.
She ignores it, assuming it must be Mike's.
"So, is your father coming too?" Mike asks, looking
at Elena through his phone screen. "Yeah, he is," Elena replies, and Mike's face drops."But he'll only be staying for four days, just to check out the arrangements, the dorm, and stuff like that. He might leave before you get to meet him she says
Mike lets out a sigh of relief. "Oh, that's good," he says. "I have to admit, I'm kind of scared of your father and sister."Elena laughs. "They're not that bad, you'll get used to them," she says, trying to reassure him. "And besides, you know how protective they can be. They just want to make sure I stay safe."
Mike nods, understanding. "Yeah, I get it," he says."But I still wish they were a little bit more accepting of me."
Elena sighs. "I know, I know," she says. "But they'll come around, I promise. They just need a little time to see how much you mean to me." Mike smiles. "I hope you're right,"
he says. "Because I don't know how much more of their disapproving looks I can take."
