Y/N lied in her bed as the moments on the sidewalk ran through her head. Her cheeks flushed red and she ripped up her blanket to cover her embarrassment. "He's too sweet," Y/N mumbled in between her hands. A small sneeze escaped her nose and she sighed, she had gotten sick from last night.

Y/N's eyes trailed to meet his, and they both sheepishly smiled. Genya rubbed his nape and opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Y/N on the other hand was a flustered mess, she hadn't been complimented like than since her last relationship.

They continued to walk in silence, but in a comfortable and sweet silence. Genya would occasionally look over to Y/N and admire her admiration for the stars. The cold breeze brushed against her cheek, but she didn't mind.

Soon enough, the two found themselves at Y/N's front door.

"Thank you for taking me home, Genya," Y/N softly smiled. Genya let a light chuckle escape from his lips, "No problem."

Genya waited until someone answered the door and soon it swung open, revealing a tall man with black-purple ponytail rubbing his eyes. His face was also marked with purple markings. His eyes shot open when he realized who was in front of him.

"Y/N!!" The man shook her shoulders violently, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??!!" Y/N could only laugh at her brother's antics, though they sounded more like rippled yells from his shaking.

"Michikatsu, let her be," Another voice spoke out from the house. Genya watched in confusement and looked between the two figures. He guessed the one shaking her was Michikatsu.

"DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?!?!" The man, supposedly named Michikatsu, wrapped his arms around Y/N's shoulders tightly, "IT'S 1 AM IN THE MORNING!!"

Y/N hugged her brother back, "I know, I had to walk from the restaurant to home." Michikatsu's eyes widened when he heard her statement. His snapped towards Genya, giving him a glare.

"Were you the one who walked her home?" His eyebrow raised in suspicion and waited the younger boy to answer.

Genya gulped and nervously answered, "Y-yes." Michikatsu's eyes widened even more.

"AND YOU LET HER WALK IN THIS COLD WEATHER, DO YOU REALIZE HOW SENSITIVE SHE IS TO COLD!?!?" Michikatsu let out another yell directed towards the boy. Genya shuddered and shrunk down.

"Michikatsu, knock it off," The other man walked outside and grabbed his brother, ripping him away from Y/N and Genya. They heard the door shut and a thud coming from inside.

The door opened once more and another man stood there. He had dark red hair and wore hanafuda earrings, he also had a mark like the other man, but it was red and placed differently.

"I'm sorry Y/N, he was stressed when you didn't show up tonight at your usual time," He opened the door to allowed the two younger ones into the house.

'It's okay Yoriichi, I understand that," Y/N lightly laughed at her two brother's differences. Yoriichi smiled at his little sister and then his gaze moved towards the other younger man that was present with Y/N.

"Yoriichi, this is Genya!" Y/N piped up and pushed Genya towards her brother, "Genya, these two are my older brothers, Yoriichi," Y/N pointed to the red haired man, "And that is my other older brother and his twin, Michikatsu!" She then pointed to the other man sulking on the couch. Michikatsu had his arms crossed and squished himself down on the couch with a pout on his face.

"Thank you for bringing her home Genya, but please don't allow her to walk outside in cold weather for this long," Yoriichi guided Genya back to the front door and thanked him once more before closing it behind him.

Genya could hear the door lock behind him and he smiled, glad that Y/N didn't live alone and had two older brothers to protect her.

"GENYA! GET YOUR ASS UP AND DO YOUR CHORES!!"

Genya squinted his eyes and covered his eyes with a scrunched face. "Definitely Sanemi yelling," Genya muttered out in annoyance and pulled off his covers. The cold air touched his skin and he shivered.

He threw his legs over his bed and ruffled his runway lane he called hair on his head. He groaned when he saw the time, 8:56 am.

Genya's footsteps trudged down the stairs and he soon made his way to the kitchen. Sanemi was over the stove making a pan full of omelets and onigiri, while their younger siblings were setting the table.

Sanemi plated each omelet and onigiri according to their siblings' wants. Some wanted vegetables in theirs, and others despised it. Some had ketchup drizzled on it, while others were plain. Their onigiris were the same way. Some had red bean filling, while some had nothing.

The Shinazugawa family sure liked their red beans.

Genya helped Koto and Shuya onto their chairs, since they were the youngest brothers and also the shortest. Sumi and Teiko helped Sanemi with the plates around the table, making sure everyone had their favorite omelet.

Genya was about to take his seat until he looked around and didn't see their mother sitting at her usual seat. He pursed his lips and walked over to Sanemi. Sanemi was still finishing up some ohagi by the counter.

"Sanemi, where's mother?" Genya tapped Sanemi on the shoulder lightly. Sanemi huffed, "She's resting upstairs, I went to check on her this morning and she was running a fever."

Genya quickly made his way upstairs to check on their mother.

"Mother?' Genya slowly creaked the door open to the darkened room. He could see her small figure lying in bed with a cold compress against her forehead. He slowly shut the door behind him and sat her bed beside her.

"Mother, how are you feeling now?" His mother reached out and gently held onto Genya's hand, he could feel that she was burning up.

"I'm feeling a little better than a few hours ago," She squeezed his hand and gave him a warm smile. Genya sat with his mother for a few minutes until she spoke up, "Don't get yourself riled up Genya, I'll be fine. Go eat some breakfast."

Genya smiled at his mother sadly, "I'll bring you something small, you need to eat too mother." His mother showed him another loving smile and closed her eyes to rest more.

Genya was careful not to make noise as he walked down the hallway. He saw that his brothers and sisters were already eating and they were almost halfway done.

"Genya, come eat, I'll get mother some food," Sanemi ruffled his hair and walked upstairs with a bowl of porridge and a glass of water. Genya felt a tug on his leg when he saw that Koto and Shuya wanted him to sit by them.

He settled down between his two brothers and started to eat.

"Big brother, is mommy going to be okay?"

Genya looked at Shuya, his eyes were filled with tears and he was sniffling. Genya wiped his tears away with his thumbs as he reassured them, "Mother is going to be fine, she is strong, like grandma." Genya tickled Shuya's tummy and he giggled in response.

Genya was relieved that Shuya had stopped crying, for Shuya loved their mother very much as he was very young.
