Dark Kit Explanation (non-story)

                                    

                                          
Dark Kits are children of the Dark Forest residences. Let me explain--
The idea came from a mutual of mine on Tumblr, and it basically is a way for my friends and I to allow our ocs to have families together, even in the setting of my blog, which is the Place of No Stars. 
I decided to expand on this and come up with a logical explanation as to how on earth dead cats can reproduce, and I've come to the decision/AU that they aren't really dead.
In this AU (or headcanon perhaps?), the Dark Forest is actually purgatory, not Hell. 
Anyone who does bad goes to the Dark Forest. Their second chance comes in their death. If they did better in their afterlife, then they will be reincarnated. If they did not or if they did worse or continued to cause harm, then they would end up in an empty black void. But no one actually knows this, they only know the DF as the place where bad cats go.
To take it further, because they aren't fully in Hell, they aren't fully dead--ghosts/spirits they most certainly are, but with enough living essence in them to do things that living cats can do (such as die again, bleed [as we have seen!], or reproduce)
These offspring are called Dark Kits. They aren't simply kits born in the Dark Forest, as they are much more unhealthier than full-living kits and have certain conditions that come with such a birth. 
Some examples of conditions a Dark Kit could have are:
--unusual bloating (like that of a body)
--skeletal-like thinness
--twisted paw/s
--perpetual jaundice
--underbite/overbite
--number of toes on paws are more or less than the norm
--orthostatic tremors
--brittle bones
etc.
But all hope is not lost for them! A StarClan cat (usually someone who was close to their parent) can send blessings, which allows Dark Kits to be born as healthy as a living kit.
You may wonder why StarClan doesn't take the kits to their more safe and green fields, and the answer is that they tried! But they can't--Dark Kits cannot survive anywhere but the Dark Forest.
Now, returning this to the topic of Gorseheart. With all the Dark Kits being born in the Dark Forest, aka innocent lives, StarClan has allowed for some of their cats to bring in food and better bedding and better herbs, if ever needed. Mallowfur/star and Firejay used this opportunity to go into the Dark Forest and see their friend again.

Dark Kits can also have kits themselves! These (and ever subsequent generation following) are called Grand Dark Kits.
