"Let's see... What would a kitten like to eat?" I am at the 24/7 supermarket at the end of the street, trying to decide what kind of food I should get for the little kitten. After a while, I choose three different flavors: fish, chicken, beef. I also grab some treats for kitten and snacks for Sylus and me.
As I walk past an accessory collection, my gaze falls upon items supposed to bring luck to their owner. Somehow, I must think about Sylus and his lack of luck. One of the items is a black feather, at its end are red and black pearls bound. It strange how much it reminds me of Sylus, and I get it without thinking twice.
I am brooding as I recall his words from the park, that he was not allowed by fate to be lucky. I wonder if he likes those kinds of things or if he will make fun of me for buying something silly like this. But I think, it's kind of cute... and I would love to see him wearing it. I bet he is upset because of Lily and the accident with Xavier, even if he did now show it right now. Maybe I can improve his mood with a little gift.
The memory of Sylus singing for me comes into my mind and I have to smile. How dumb must I have been to not notice how much he loved me back then. Poor Sylus. No wonder that the 'bestie'-act did stir something inside of him. Maybe I was too young at that time. I wonder at which point I actually fell in love with him. I hope that's going to happen soon, feeling bad for Sylus one-sided love.
The awkward situation with Xavier crosses my mind and I scowl. I felt really uncomfortable. I can't stand it if someone does not respect my boundaries. And Sylus watching us made it even worse. Thank God, I was better in combat than Xavier from the start.
If he had managed to kiss me right there, I bet Sylus would have not just watched in the shadows. He would have raged and be discovered, or even worse, Xavier might be dead by now. However, it would have been bad for sure.
I really hope Xavier understands and accepts my No's by now. I fear work might get complicated now with the tension between us. Maybe I even must change departments. To date a colleague was a bad idea right from the start.
After paying for the groceries, I hum and swing my bag back and forth at my way back home, my hips swinging from left to right. I can't stop smiling in anticipation, imagining snuggling with Sylus on my couch, watching a movie and eating my favorite snacks. Like a couple. Like a damn normal couple.
I know that Sylus has to return to the N109 Zone by tomorrow. The accident with Xavier was a clear warning how close it was for Sylus to be discovered. But until then, I am going to enjoy every second of our time together.
I reach the front door of my apartment, unlocking the door with a soft click, opening and closing the door behind me as I step in. As I slip out of my shoes, my gaze instantly falls upon Sylus. He is casually laying on the couch, the blanket draped around him, the kitten sleeping on his stomach. How much I would like to swap places with her.
He looks at me, moving his forefinger to his lips, his eyes darting to the sleeping cat. Oh God! I could melt right here and there, he's just too sweet. At that moment, a vision flickers before my eyes. Sylus lies on the couch, but instead of the little kitten, he holds a little baby, lulling it to sleep. I blink in confusion, shaking my head. What was that? Crazy hormones, please keep it cool.
I need a moment to regain my composure, but I must admit, that Sylus seems like perfect dad material. I have to force myself to stop my imagination to run wild by the thought of that... and what act would lead to a baby in the first place. Stop it! Stupid brain.
Approaching him slowly, I am careful to be quiet as I sit next to him. My fingers gently trail the way of his jawline. He looks so happy. Then, he catches my fingers on their way, guiding my hand to his lips to place a hot kiss on my palm. As his tongue teases my sensitive skin, shivers are running down my spine, targeting my core.
"Do you want to watch a movie? I bought some snacks for us. I could feed you?" I grin at Sylus, showing the bag of groceries. "That sounds like fun, Kitten." His smile is genuine.
I turn on the TV, snuggling next to Sylus. The bag of cookies rests on my lap as I put a cookie from time to time into his mouth. When my fingers sometimes brushing his lips, I can't stop a slightly tremble. "Can I use you?" I choke on a cookie by Sylus question. Please what? I look at him with teary eyes catching my breath. He grins and pats my thigh. "As a pillow I mean. Can I rest my head on your lap?" I blink in confusion, forcing my thoughts out of the ghetto. "S-sure."
He tilts his head up, so I can get closer with my legs. Then his head rests on my lap. I am aware of the weight and warmth of him on my lap and it's hard to concentrate on the film we are watching. I start to gently stroke his white hair. His gaze is soft as he looks up at me. "You are really comfy." His deep voice causes goosebumps on my arms.
"I love your voice." I burst out and my cheeks get warm. Moron. His smile widens, and his eyes grow a little wider. "Is that so?" His voice growing even deeper and more seductive while laced with a hint of playful teasing. My face gets even hotter under his intense gaze.
Then I remember that I bought the talisman for Sylus. I get it out of the bag, holding it up over his face. The black feather swings from left to right, and his eyes follow its movements. "What is this? A kitten toy?" His voice sounds amused. "It's a talisman. It's supposed to bring luck to its owner. It's a gift for you." His eyes widen in surprise and his gaze wanders from the feather to my eyes. "For me?"
At that moment, the little kitten wakes up, sniffing the air. It seems she is hungry and smells the cat food I bought. Sylus sits up and I already miss the warmth of his body on my lap. Instead, I concentrate on the kitten.
"Aw... are you hungry, little kitten. Come with me, I got you plenty of choices. Come, kitty kitty. Come." I grab the can of cat food and walk into the kitchen, getting a low bowl to put the cat food in, placing it on the ground. The little furball follows my every step into the kitchen. "There you go...!"
"Come, Kitty." Suddenly, I hear Sylus's deep voice directly next to my ear, his hot breath tickling its inside, sending shivers down my spine. I feel his hands hot on my hips, his bare chest pressed against my back.
Sylus chuckles softly as he feels me startled by his sudden closeness. He tightens his grip on my hips, his fingers digging into my skin slightly as he presses his chest harder against my back. My body tenses and shivers at his words, and he grins as he feels the effect he's having on me.
"Do not think your worry for me goes unnoticed, little Kitten. Wrapping me in a blanket, cooking tea and buying snacks for me. And now this... gift." Sylus lets the talisman dangling from his fingers, watching it swinging in the air, a cocky grin appearing on his lips. "You know, I am not used to be spoiled. I might get eager for more."
