Someone was shaking her shoulder. Calling her name.

The sound was faint. Far away. But she was sure she recognized the voice that begged for her to wake up, please wake up!

It took tremendous effort, but Saedii forced her eyes open.

For a moment, she wasn't sure that she'd succeeded. Everything around her was dark. Too dark. But after a moment, her eyes adjusted to the low flares of light burning somewhere close by, casting just enough that she could make out figures.

Blurry, distorted figures. There were dark, jagged shapes around her. Odd shapes that Saedii was sure had no place there, wherever she was.

Her breath caught in her chest as she tried to sit up and pain streaked down the back of her head, reverberating in her chest. In her shoulder.

"Saedii?" that small voice cried beside her.

Slowly, sounds were coming back in. The sound of settling metal. Of rushing water, close by. Something cold and wet was dripping onto her legs – as cold as an icy sea.

"Saedii, please wake up! I need you!" that voice begged.

She turned towards the sound.

The figure that stood over her was small, with light blonde hair plastered in wet swaths across her forehead. Panic was laced around her eyes, around her thin mouth that trembled in fear.

Omega.

As much as it hurt, Saedii forced herself up.

Everything swam around her. Her body, so filled with agony, trembling, was slow and clumsy. Weak. But she was able to sit up and lean heavily against a chunk of drywall at her back.

Around her, the ruined remains of the main sector of Tipoca City lay in chunks. Ragged portions of ceiling plaster and metal crested around them like crumbled pieces of mountain, tumbled off from their base. Tangles of wires and tubes hung down like intestines from the ceiling, collected like clusters of seaweed along the ground.

Pouring in from the ceiling, leaks of water rained down, like little faucets. Emergency lights flared just bright enough that Saedii could see the water that trickled in was brown and grimy. It gave off a strong smell of gasoline and chemicals.

Saedii coughed at the smell, then sucked in a sharp breath at the stab of pain in her shoulder. She reached up, brushing her fingers across her stump. The bandage had slipped off in the fall, but the tourniquet was still on. Still tight enough that it didn't seem to be letting out any blood.

"Saedii?" Omega asked again.

"I'm ok," Saedii ground out. Her voice was nothing more than a croak. Just barely audible. She swallowed. "Are you hurt?"

"No. I'm alright." She had a flashlight in her hand. In the dim light, the planes of her face were cast in shadow, but Saedii could read the panic there. The fear.

At her back, AZI, the droid, was wringing its hands. "Commander Synn, in your state, these conditions are prone to cause infection. You must get somewhere safe and dry."

Saedii frowned. "Where are the others?"

"Behind the door." Omega shined her flashlight down a bit, tracing it along a shut door just a few yards away. "Saedii, we're trapped in here."

It should have terrified her. Especially with all the water trickling in from the ceiling. But Saedii found that she didn't have much room for fear at the moment. She took in a slow breath, trying to focus.

"My lightsabers," she whispered, reaching down with her good arm. But they weren't there.

Omega bit her lip. "Echo has them."
