AMELIAS POV
"Amelia get up," Arizona said and she started shaking me, "come on get up.""Arizona," I complained, "Is the sun even up?"
"It's 9AM come on," Arizona complained, "It's Christmas." I opened my eyes and looked at her.
"Merry Christmas honey," I smiled and rubbed her back, "Give me like two minutes okay?"
"Merry Christmas," She said and kissed me. She snuggled into me and I wrapped my arm around her. We walked downstairs and made coffee and Barbara and Dan were awake.
"Merry Christmas everyone," Dan said.
"Merry Christmas mom and dad," Arizona said and made everyone coffee. She was so adorable. She was like a small kid on Christmas morning again. We walked out to the living room to exchange gifts. God it was so nice to just have a normal Christmas morning with family. I saw down next to Arizona and she put her arm around me.
"Open mine first," she said and kissed my cheek.
"Okay," I said as she handed me a box. I unwrapped it and it was a gorgeous necklace.
"Flip it over," she said. It was a silver heart and on the back was our anniversary engraved.
"It's beautiful," I said, "Thank you honey."
"You're welcome," she smiled and kissed me. I handed her a present and she opened it.
"Oh my gosh we have the same brain!" She laughed as she opened it and it was a gold necklace.
"The anniversary is also on the back," I laughed.
"No way," she said and flipped it over, "Oh my gosh that's so funny I love it. I love us."
"I love us too," I said and kissed her head.
ARIZONAS POV
Christmas was so wonderful. I loved having Amelia here. We spent the morning watching Christmas movies with my parents and now we were getting ready to go to dinner with some of my other family at my Aunt's house. Amelia was in the shower and I finished getting ready. I walked downstairs and my mom was boxing up some cookies to bring over."Hey can we talk about something?" I asked.
"Sure honey," my mom said.
"I uh," I said, "I want to propose to Amelia."
"I think that's a lovely idea," my mom said.
"I don't know if it's too soon," I said.
"I mean you did buy a house together," my mom chuckled, "I think whatever timeline you want is right for you."
"I really love her. She's so special," I said.
"I can tell honey," my mom said, "She's lovely. Your father and I have both enjoyed having her here the past few days. She clearly loves you a lot." I smiled.
"Well now I need to figure out what type of ring to get," I chuckled.
"Whatever you get will be perfect," my mom said. I smiled and went back upstairs to check on Amelia. I walked in the guest bedroom and the bathroom door was closed. Amelia's phone was on the end table and it was blowing up like crazy. I looked over at it and it was her mom. I felt shitty for looking at them but her phone was just right there.
Carolyn: I cannot believe you would ditch your siblings and I on Christmas. We miss you.
Carolyn: I don't want to push you away but what you're doing is wrong. You cannot choose your "girlfriend" over me and your brother and sisters.
Carolyn: You're not gay. I'm sorry for bringing up James but you can find a nice man again if you try. I don't want you dating a girl.
Carolyn: Can you answer me?
Carolyn: You can't ignore this issue. You're not gay and that girl doesn't love you. You need to stop being so ridiculous and delusional.
Carolyn: Merry Christmas.
Derek: I didn't tell mom about the house. She's pissed off at you, I don't care that you went to Colorado and I hope you're having fun. Love you. Merry Christmas Amy.
The bathroom door opened and Amelia saw me on her phone.
"Sorry I wasn't snooping I promise. I came in and it was blowing up on the table so I wanted to make sure everything was alright if maybe it was Meredith or Maggie and then uh I guess maybe I was snooping but a few messages popped up and I read them," I rambled, "I'm sorry Amelia."
"Arizona it's fine," she chuckled, "I don't care if you see a few text messages. You literally have my phone password."
"They're from your mom," I said softly.
"Oh," Amelia said, "I would have shown them to you anyway. I'll read them later, I don't want to ruin the night. It's Christmas after all."
"I know you're wearing your watch and saw them," I said gently.
"I don't really want to talk about it," she said awkwardly, "Or at least right now. It's Christmas. We're with your family. I'm with you. I want to enjoy it."
"You're sure?" I asked.
"Yeah," She said, "Sorry you had to see that."
"Sorry I was on your phone," I said.
"I don't care," she said, "You're my other half you can be on my phone." I chuckled and I wrapped my arms around her.
"You are the strongest woman I know," I said softly.
"Do not make me cry I already did my makeup," Amelia laughed.
"I love you," I smiled.
"I love you too," Amelia said.
