SONG OF THE CHAPTER :
GODSPEED - FRANK OCEAN

A summer later, Niccolo and Gia both come back to school with the rest of their classmates, and a new partner of their own at their sides.

Niccolo was dating Lucas Conti's sister, Bella. And Gia was dating Lucas.

But neither of them had known who they were dating until they saw each other.

Out in the courtyards of their school, Gia saw Niccolo with Bella across the courtyard, a weird tightness in her chest at the sight.

She inhaled sharply, turning away. "You alright?" Lucas asked her. Gia nodded. "Of course. Just nervous, you know. It's our first day back." She shrugged in dismissal.

"Yeah, me too. Come meet my sister." Lucas said and pointed to the girl standing with Niccolo.

Gia's eyes widened. "Oh, uh—" she began, but found her and Lucas walking over to the two anyway.

"Bella," Lucas called to the girl who then turned around to face her brother and Gia.

Niccolo's smile faded as soon as he met eyes with Gia.

"This is my girlfriend, Gia. The one I want to bring on vacation with us for Christmas." Lucas explained. "Oh, hey! So nice to finally meet you." Said Bella, smiling at Gia.

Gia returned the smile. "Me too. I've heard so much about you, I was excited to meet you." She said.

Niccolo's eyes couldn't leave Gia and Lucas together, mostly Gia. He thought he'd fallen in love with Bella and finally got over Gia, but seeing her in person changed his perspective on that.

Bella and Lucas continued talking for a while before ending their conversation. "Well, then. It was nice to meet you, but we're going to get to class now." Bella said to Gia and Lucas before walking off with Niccolo.

Niccolo looked back at Gia before letting Bella drag him along to the hallways.

"Sorry. I forgot you two were thing. Must've been awkward, huh?" Lucas winced awkwardly. Gia shook her head. "No, no, it was fine," she inhaled sharply and sighed.

"Just felt a bit weird. Unresolved." She shrugged and turned to Lucas. "Maybe we should get to class too." She added.

Lucas nodded in agreement and allowed her to lead the way to their classroom.

LATER THAT DAY.

The dismissal bell rang, and students broke out into cheers of relief now that the first day of school was over with.
