10th grade - Prom
In our school we had a high school dance every end of the academic year from 10th grade.
This year was our first dance, but the last with my boys. Only Mateo and I stayed back from the group - I had to though. 
For her.  
My Addie.
Everyone was asking their crushes or partners out, and I really really wanted to ask Addie so very badly for the dance but she was always around Mia and Riley who really seemed to be in love with Addie that they never let her go, even to the restroom.
I didn't know what she was wearing, the color, the pattern nothing. Well yeah, I didn't ask but I mean how would I? I really really hope we would just end up matching by coincidence.
Addie decided to volunteer for venue decor so Mia, Riley and I joined her and I dragged Silas, Sage and Knox to join me cause this would be the only way to even have a glance at Addie apart from school hours. 
We had a huge indoor basketball ground where our assembly and games would take place and the dance was happening there too. The dress code was the normal - dresses and suits - nothing special. But our entire gym room was being decorated with flowers, stars, lights and balloons. We were setting up a DJ booth, photo booth in polaroid style, props for pictures, stalls for food and of course the very necessary prom date picture stand.
The dance was in four days and I didn't get my suit ready yet. None of the boys had actually. 
We stayed back for the past two weeks setting up the ground for prom and sending out posters to the students. It was a shit job. I have no idea how I convinced the boys to stay along with me, but they did. Mateo obviously couldn't, his mom would ask another million questions and he'd rather not listen so he left home.
I wasn't spending much time with Addie during the time for decor either, but just a glance of her or the slight sound of her voice is enough to make me happy.
I really wish that I could make Addie a part of this group so she could just be with completely even as friends, but I don't think the boys will take that thought easily. Sage would agree but the rest I don't think so, and I haven't tried to make them talk either. 
We got the advantage to bunk whenever cause we were part of the decoration committee basically, we were taking care of the entire dance.
And we were going the make it the best one the school has ever seen.
We skipped most of the classes today, the day before prom, just arranging last minute things - tables, photo booth, camera rolls and stuff. And in the evening I went out to get my suit thank god I didn't forget about that.
I don't even what color Addie is wearing and we both were so busy - actually, she was busy not me - I was just lazing around with the boys talking and watching Addie. I realized Addie is kind of a bossy person, when she wants something to be done. 
But something in me kept stopping me from talking to her.
Today, was the day.
I'm not even excited to see my friends. I'm more excited to see Addie.
My mother probably took a three dozen pictures of me, my sister just sat there rolling her eyes the entire time at me. I finally left to school, and I received a notification on my phone.
From Addie.
Addie  : Hey, are you ready?
Me : Yeah, i just started from place
          you?
Addie : Yeah, i'll be there in like 15 mins. I'm waiting for Riley to come home.
Me : Oh are you guys coming together? 
Addie : Yep
Me : Alr, ill see u at school
Addie : Yesssir, byebyeeee
Me : Byeeee
There was something happening in my stomach, it was twisting into knots, I could feel my head beating up and i was feeling a heartbeat or whatever happens in my neck and wrist. Is that even possible?
I was so nervous to see her and for her to see me.
I reached the school and called up Silas to see if he had reached, but he hadn't he was 10mins away from the school. Silas and Knox were coming together, Mateo's mom was dropping him at 7 and it was 6 right now, so he wouldn't be here for an hour.
The dance would probably last late till night, probably 1? So Mateo would leave by 10 probably.
Sage, Silas and Knox had arrived together. We guys ended up taking pictures together at the prom date booth and we got into to ground and damn. We didn't really contribute into this much but the place looks so upbeat. Imagine turning a basketball ground into this.
It was probably half an hour later of us boys just eating some food and dancing here and there and there she was. 
There probably was a slow song going on in the dance but I only heard the song and I could only see her. Everything else stopped and was silenced. 
Addie, my god.
She walked in wearing the most gorgeous piece of clothing of blue and it was shimmering under the disco lights. Even from afar I could see that she didn't wear makeup, but some how she was glowing. Her hair was put down, she probably curled the ends of her and she clipped the sides of her making some strands fall onto her face shaping it so beautifully.
Addie was glowing.
Her eyes, those eyes stood out to me. 
And she was just at the enterance and I was inside the hall.
Her eyes were wandering, was she searching for someone?
Me?
Her eyes kept roaming until it stopped and she smiled, right through me.
She was searching for me.
