"I don't know how that concerns you but this is my uniform" I said, enunciating every word. For once she couldn't take away what was mine.

"You're delusional. You're crazy" she accused me, words that I wanted to send back at her but I wouldn't. She was crazy enough to yell profanities at me in the middle of training hours. Students and teachers alike had began paying attention to our altercation, forcing me to bite my teeth together and redeem some of my restraint. But I was doing this for me, not her.

She grabbed my shirt again, trying to tear the material apart but the uniform was made to withstand much worse. Her little grabby hands couldn't even stretch the fabric.

In anger she pulled even harder, making me stumble a little.

"What's going on here" with these words our bodies were separated. I didn't know the man that had taken her arms into a tight grip, keeping her away from me. He looked old enough to be a teacher.

"She's stolen a uniform" Maeve yelled, purposely avoiding our relation because that would've been way too disgraceful for her. This magicless ugly duckling couldn't be her sister.

The teacher turned his face away at her loud voice that was produced right beside his ear.

"You know that I'm not deaf, right?" He asked her in anger.
To my confusion he looked at me, raising an eyebrow.
Was I supposed to talk now?

"Uhm, no sir. This is my uniform" I tried explaining awkwardly but after my first words I was already rudely interrupted.
"NOOOOOOOOO" Maeve yelled, trying to get free from the teacher's grip but he wouldn't budge.

"Can you prove that this is in fact your uniform?" He asked me, ignoring Maeve.
He looked annoyed by her antics. His motive was probably to appease Maeve so this wouldn't escalate further.

"Yes, I study under Sir Ashdracon" I replied because he was the only one who came to my mind. After all he was my only teacher.

He had been right behind me until....

"Yes, she's with me" his voice sounded from behind.
His choice of words was a little weird though. It almost made me blush if I hadn't known how those words were meant.

"See, misunderstanding is cleared. You can go back to 'training' now" the unfamiliar teacher told Maeve, letting go of her. It was a mistake, though, because in the next moment she was already charging for me.

A large arm shot forward, making her bounce back. She looked like an injured cat, retracting from the impact.
Ronan had put his arm in front of me protectively, shielding my body from her.
I looked at his face, but his attention was trained on Maeve.

"This is not how we solve problems here" he told her in a deep voice that promised consequences, not that I thought that he'd hurt her.
Knowing that there was nothing that she could do, Maeve thought in silence, still carrying her characteristic expression of anger and entitlement.

How had she ever been my sister? It was a riddle to me how she and me had crawled out of the same mother.

"Fine, I'll challenge you."

There was silence at her words. I looked at Ronan in question. Could she do this?

"I don't think you're in the position to challenge someone" he replied in my place. So apparently she could. It irked me a little that he had chosen to answer for me. And even more it annoyed me that I was once again in the dark. I didn't know anything...

"No, I'm challenging you, Aurora. Either accept or bring even more dishonor to my family" Maeve challenged provocatively.
The thing was, I didn't care if I brought dishonor to her family. I wasn't wasting even an ounce of care or worry on this family, just as they had towards me.
