Aidan's boyfriend Damon was a demon from the underworld. As a paranormal investigator falling in love with a demon was the last thing Aidan expected to happen to him. One day he was witnessing the exorcism of a middle-aged man in the countryside and the next he had a demon attached to him. A seven-foot-tall, winged, and horned demon that followed him everywhere, hiding in shadows. At first, his dreams were filled with nightmares but soon those nightmares turned into erotic dreams.  One day the demon haunting him showed up at his doorstep wanting Aidan as his life mate. 
Aidan entered the gym where Damon started working as a personal trainer to fit in with the rest of the humans. Damon gave up the underworld to stay with Aidan. It was surprising for Aidan to see a seven-inch tall man kneel and beg Aidan to accept him as his mate. Aidan resisted him for the longest time, not able to digest the fact that the man had horns, pitch-black wings, and fiery red eyes that could make a grown man scream in fear. He was a demon who fed on dark energy—people's pain, sorrow, perversion, and everything bad. Aidan was still trying to figure out what on earth a demon was doing with a chubby human boy like him. A demon who could kill anybody with a flick of his finger. 
Aidan winched seeing the beautiful woman bent over before his boyfriend, doing preworkout stretches. The tight leggings did nothing to hide the shape of her butt. The woman was probably innocent, working out like any other person in the gym, and his boyfriend was just her trainer. Aida would never have that athletic body. His congenital hypothyroidism lowered his metabolism making it impossible for him to lose weight. Even with medication, it was difficult to control the numbers and he gave up obsessing over his weight when he hit his twenties. He accepted that he was always going to be a chubby guy and no matter how much he cut calories or worked out he was going to remain the same bodywise.
His eyes met Damon across the room. It never failed to amaze Aidan how handsome Damon was. Every smooth contour of his muscle was on full display as he stood shirtless in the middle of the Gym a few feet away from the girl Aidan had seen before. A slow smile spread across his face as their eyes met. It sent tingles down Aidan's body every freaking time. The pearly white straight teeth and those particularly sharp canines gave Damon a slightly predatory look. Dark and erotic. Combined with those deep eyes, they were a deadly combination. Damon looked much tamer in his human form. When he took his demon form, he was a different thing altogether. An entity you can't escape from. His aura could suck you in. It was like being hypnotized, only in Aidan's case the demon was equally as hypnotized by him. 
The woman stood up and walked up to Damon, saying something with a smile that was a little too wide for Aidan's liking. 'Mine' he wanted to growl across the room. Then she had to go ahead and touch his boyfriend's bare arm. Aidan saw red, just about ready to pull her away from Damon when he politely stepped away from her and smiled apologetically. The man was too polite for his good. Aidan would have slapped her hand away.
It wasn't Damon's fault that he attracted unwanted attention. His demon aura made it impossible for him to be invisible. Women flocked around him like bees to honey. Aidan couldn't fault him for it. And neither did he want Damon to feel apologetic for it. 
"One coffee wouldn't hurt," Aidan heard the woman say as he approached them.
"I will have to pass, Mrs Martinez." Damon refused.
"Is it because you are gay?"
"My sexuality has nothing to do with it."
"So what is it?"
"He said no!" Aidan snapped as he stood beside Damon, glaring at the woman. "Hi baby," he greeted, going to his tiptoes to kiss his boyfriend on the cheek. It wasn't usual for him to show affection publicly. Aidan was shy and self-conscious most of the time but the woman ruffled something in his and he had to reciprocate.
