season 2, episode 1.

There wasn't many days that I woke up happy.
I wasn't a morning person so usually something had to happen for me to be happy but that wasn't the case for this morning. I couldn't really describe the feelings that filled my whole body but I guess to was pure glee.

"Don't." I chuckled, covering my face as I turned away from Nathan who was watching me sleep.
"What? We're going to be waking up next to each other for the rest of our lives, I'll know what you look like when you're sleeping." He chuckled as he pulled my hand away from my face, interlocking our fingers. My smile grew at sight of our golden rings hitting each other.

"This can't be real." I shook my head as I turned back to face him. He looked so happy, the happiest I've ever seen him. I'm glad he didn't regret it, we didn't really have time to think it through. "It is." He nodded as he leaned in, connecting our lips. He pulled away once his phone started to ring against the night stand next to me. I groaned as he reached over me for it.
"Do we have to go back to reality yet?"

"It's my mom, she's blowing me up." He spoke, scrolling through his notifications. "Do you think she knows?" I winced but he immediately shook his head. "No, not that fast. Who would tell her?"
The only ones that knew about our current situation was Lucas and my parents, maybe Keith if Lucas told him but I hope he didn't only because I want to tell Keith myself.

I watched Nathan closely as he listened to the voicemails she left him, the smile quickly wiping off my face. Maybe she did know? "What's wrong?" Whispered as he slowly pulled the phone away from his ear. He didn't look completely sad, just more lost. "My dad's in the hospital." He answered as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. "He had a heart attack."

"Oh my god, Nathan." I didn't feel bad for Dan, I felt bad for my fiancée and future mother in-law. Dan put them through enough without up and dying or something on them. "We should go to the hospital." He spoke emotionless as he stood up, pulling his boxer's back on. "Yeah, of course." I nodded as I also stood up, quickly pulling back on my underwear and bra. "But Nathan..." I turned over my shoulder. "Maybe we don't tell them about us yet." If Dan found out we were moving in together again and this time engaged, he'd probably just flatline right then and there.

"They'll find out eventually." Nathan pointed out as he pulled on a pair of pants. "Yeah but does eventually have to be right now? I don't think we should do anything to upset while he's still in the hospital." I'd love to see Dan's big vein pop out when he finds out we're going to be married but maybe in a hospital bed wasn't the right time for that. "Look, I don't care how pissed he's going to be, okay? It's our life. We're going to be married soon and I want everyone to know that."

I tapped my fingers against the steering wheel as I drove us towards the hospital, softly smiling at the unfamiliar feeling of my ring bouncing off the steering wheel.
