I sit up in the grass, rubbing my head after jumping. My head hurts and so do my eyes from crying and rubbing at them so much, I reach into the dork pouch and grab hand sanitizer, squirting and unnecessary amount onto my hands and rubbing them together.
The smell of alcohol and soap wafted into my nostrils, making them flare before I realized this was what Ben usually smelt like whenever I hugged him, and I bring my hands to my face, sighing.
“We aren't going back for Ben!” Brooklyn yells, and I look up to see her mad at Sammy. “Bens. . .gone.”
I sniffle, and suddenly feel uncomfortable in my dirty, muddy, smelly clothes, so I reach into my bag and pull out the outfit Ben had set out for me the day everything went wrong. I had decided not to wear it, since it wasn't really my style at all, I mean, leggings? T-shirt? Come on man, you should know me better than that.
But as I look at the outfit, I realize wearing it could be like, respectful to the dead or something? I don't know, but as I walk behind the trees and put it on. I feel. . .
The same in every way. I sigh and come back around sitting back down on the grass, expecting Bumpy to come rest her head in my lap, when she doesn't, I look up.
“Does anyone know where Bumpy is?” I ask, looking around frantically, “Kenji?” I look at the Kon, “where's my baby?” I ask, then I glare at them all, “we are looking for Bumpy.”
“We have to go.” Darious counters, “We have to go!” he yells, and so hear static coming from the walkie talkie in my bag, I grab it.
“Roxie, I wanna go home, Bens dead, Yas is hurt, I just wanna go home, I have no family, I wanna go home.” I cry into the walkie talkie, “I wanna go home!”
“Wait, Y·N, Ben is dead?” Dave grabs the walkie, “Y·N, did you say Ben is dead?”
I sob, running down the tunnels with everyone else, “He fell of the monorail—” I choke, “I couldn't save him, we're lost! I hate this! This is a nightmare!” I yell, pulling out a carob juice and sipping on it, its surprisingly good.
“Ben is dead?” Roxie yells, and then the walkie short circuits.
I start sobbing, and Brooklyn pats my back, “Y·N, come on, Y·N. . .Y·N!” everything starts to go black, but I can still hear what everyone's saying.
“She must've gotten a concussion, she has been acting strange since we fell off the zip line — and the jump from the Monorail must've done more damage.” Yas voice says, and I hear the faint muttering of everyone until I can open my eyes again.
