The passing of spring

The breeze of spring has passed and summer seems to be catching up
I flip through the calendar searching for the page marked with your birthday
And I wish I could make it to the end of the year just like that,
The warm wind grazing my fingertips
Rushing through the pages
searching for love, and you
All I can think of in the moment is handing you flowers freshly bloomed
I don't want to go through the thunders of monsoon
I dream of months passing like that,
In a frenzy and teenage love
I wish I could end this year just like that, that soon
The chirping of birds is an earworm
Sunshine gets me riled up
Is it the absence of the wintery mist
Or the breathy evenings
Numbing cold that freezes my feelings
These days are a bit overwhelming
Too bright for my cloudy eyes
I'm not used to summer,
I'm not yet used to healing
