"I was in a house.  A dark dirty house, and there was this little girl. And there was this man that came in that was her dad.  He was mad that him and her mom were sick but the little girl wasn't.   The little girl was dirty, and covered in bruises.  The dad hit her in the face and sold her to WICKED." My voice was shaking, and I was truly terrified to the core.

Newt gave me sort of a confused look.

He wasn't quite understanding was I was saying.

"Newt, that little girl is me. WICKED are the people that put us here." I said, then I started sobbing.

Newt quickly wrapped his arms around me, pulling me tight to his chest.

"It's alright.  Everything is okay." Newt repeated, as he tried to comfort me.

I closed my eyes, as my face was buried in his chest.

I tried to think of anything, and everything to push those vivid scenes out of my mind.

"Heyyyy, you're awake!" Jeff greeted me, as he stepped into the room.

Newt and I quickly broke away from our hug, as I swallowed my cries and wiped the tears away from my face.

"Hey, Jeff." I said back.

"I'm glad you're okay, you were one of the easier one's to take care of." He sort of chuckled at the end.

"Thank you, thank you for taking care of me. You and Clint." I told him from the bottom of my heart.

Newt and Jeff both fell silent, as the expression on their faces drooped.

"Clint's gone.  He got taken by the grievers." Jeff spoke in a soft voice.

My heart sank.

The harsh reality of remembering what was happening in the Glade before I was stunk sunk back in.

"How many are left?" I asked them.

"A little less than 30." Newt said back.

My heart sank a little more.

"What about Chuck? What about Gally?" I quickly asked.

"They are both still here." Newt told me.

A small wave of relief flowed over me hearing they were both okay.

"Unfortunately." Jeff mumbled under his breath.

"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" I asked Jeff.

Newt then shot Jeff a harsh look for saying that.

"Gally has officially lost it.  He's convinced that Thomas and Teresa are the reason this is all happening.  He had me lock both of them up in the pit.   Thomas just woke up. He's planning on sacrificing the two of them to the grievers tonight, thinking that will put and end to all of this.  He thinks that will make everything go back to the way it was." Jeff spoke in a serious tone.

"No one's going to believe Gally, I mean he's not gonna get away with that." I said back.

"Oh, but he's got people convinced.   He's got a good hand full of Glader's on his side.  I don't think even you can convince him." Newt told me.

Oh shit, this was serious.

"We've gotta go tonight then, don't we?" I asked Newt.

"I think so." Newt said back, as he stood up.

"Let's go talk to Thomas and Teresa." I said as I slowly stood up.

My whole body ached and my broken ribs still hurt.

"You should be resting." Jeff chimed in.

Newt seemed to let out a chuckle, as I stretched my body out.

"I think you and I both know it's a waste of breath trying to tell her to rest." Newt looked at me, as he raised his eyebrows.

"I'd say so." I chuckled.

Newt and I walked down from his room and out of the homestead.

In the distance I could see Minho, Frypan, and Chuck standing by the pit, talking to Thomas and Teresa.

Newt stopped, looking over at me for a moment.

"Thank you for everything, Newt." I looked back at him.

Newt gave me a smile, as he reached for my hand.

"Always." Newt held my hand, as the two of us walked up to them.

"Damnnnn, you're awake already!" Frypan exclaimed.

Chuck quickly pushed past Minho, rushing up to me, giving me the biggest hug he could.

"You all should know I'm too stubborn for a griever to take me out that easily." I said, hugging Chuck back.

"We ran through the whole Gally situation with them." Minho said.

"So, what's the plan?" Thomas asked.

Newt and I looked at each other.

We all crouched down near the bars of the pit.

"Well, you guys go along with it for now.  When Gally brings you out of the pit tonight, that's when we will make our exit and break you two free." Newt told them.

"In the mean time, Chuck, Frypan, and Newt will gather up everyone that wants to come with.  Minho and I will go to the weapons room, to grab anything and everything we might need." I spoke.

"Good that." Minho said.

Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

"But first, I need something to eat.  I'm starving." I chuckled, looking over at Frypan.

"I figured that was coming.  Follow me, I should have something left over from lunch." Frypan smiled.

We all stood up.

"Once I'm done, I'll meet you by the weapons room." I told Minho.

Minho gave me a nod.

As I followed Frypan across the Glade, Newt jogged up behind us to catch up.

"What's up?" I asked Newt.

"Just coming with." Newt said, as he now walked by my side.

"You don't have to follow me, I'll be fine." I told him.

"I know, I want to." Newt said, as he rested his hand on my lower back.
