"Wait. You guys know each other ?" Yash asked.
"How do you know her ? And what the hell is happening ?" Teja asked with frustration. 
"I will tell you" the policeman said "your friend got into a fight in a club causing a ruckus . 
"He is not at fault." Shruti said confidently ,and got up , then helped Yash to stand up to and they both went to the policeman.
"Madam.."
"No, let me complete" Shruti cut the policeman off. "I was there and I'm a witness. The other guy which you very conveniently didn't arrest who was equally if not more involved in the fight disrespected me . He touched me inappropriately and thus he got what he deserved. "
"You can't decide that." The policeman said in a polite way as he got intimidated by Shruti.
"I can decide on that because it was me who was disrespected. And officer can I first ask why did you not arrest that guy who was the sole reason for the chaos. "
The policeman couldn't answer and stammered in nervousness.
" Because he had connections " Shruti accussed. 
She folded he hands infront of her chest , poised ,  and said "And if it takes connections for you to arrest a person or not then you can clearly see who we have with us . "
She said and pointed towards Karan.
Karan who till now was enjoying the policeman getting reprimanded was taken off guard. 
" Huh ?" He said "yes ...yes" he added soon as all the eyes were then on him .
"Fine , I am letting him go this time, but make sure to not repeat it." The policeman said brushing off the topic. 
"And you make sure that..." Shruti said with anger but stopped as Teja covered her mouth and pulled her away. 
Outside the police station the four stood waiting for one of them to start a conversation. 
As no one was saying anything, Karan said casually, " Yash , Shruti , so where should we drop you ."
"My car is in the club's parking, so there " Yash said, not paying attention to Teja's stare. 
"Would you like to explain yourself," Teja said looking at Yash. 
When Yash looked back and was about to say something, " Shruti"  Teja added and turned towards her.
"Teju yaar ," Yash said.
"Not talking to you Yash. "
"Teju I was going to tell you."
Teja ignored him and asked to Shruti,  "Shruti, how did you end up in this mess. "Her tone friendly and filled with concern. 
"Umm..Teja I landed in Mumbai today. I came here to meet Yash . We know each other because we did our residency together." Shruti said and then looked at Yash for a brief moment before adding, "we dated their for two years before we broke up and came back to India last year. We got back in touch recently and planned to meet. 
And I already told what happened later. "
Teja sighed and then gave Shruti a hug, "I hope you are fine. "
"I am" Shruti said with a smile, "Thanks to Yash. "
You have a bruised face" Teja said to Yash ," so that guy better has a broken nose. "
"He does" Yash said with a smirk. 
"You actually broke his nose" Karan asked.
"He did and maybe  broke his jaw too. He was bleeding and no matter how much I tried to stop him , he didn't ." Shruti gave the details. 
"Aye , stop it yaar. Mein itna bhi khas nahi." Yash said. 
"Haan aap kitne khas hai yeh toh apke papa batayenge jab unhe iske bare mein pata chalega' Teja said. 
In the meantime Karan started Teja's car and the other three too got on it and drove off.
"Teju , esa karegi mere sath." Yash said with puppy eyes.
"As if your puppy eyes work on me . "
"Ofcourse, now only Karan's puppy eyes melt you." Yash said and huffed.
"Oh I'm sorry I forgot" Shruti said "Congratulations on your engagement Teja and Karan."
"Thank you" they said in unison.
"But how do you guys know each other?" Yash asked. 
"Teja worked with us for six months in Bangalore, and helped us a lot by taking complete responsibility of the hospital when mom got the attack. "
"That was a different experience altogether. I had such a great time working there."
"Then join us again once you get married....if you guys are planning to settle down in Bangalore."
"Yeah" Teja said as for the first time the thought that she will completely shift to a different city hit her. She was not unhappy with it , but felt a bit nervous. 
And as always, Karan somehow noticed her uneasiness and held her hand and slowly caressed the back of it. 
The talks continued for the rest of the ride till they reached the club.
"Thank you so much for your help, Jiju " Yash said as he got off the car. 
"Okay, but you disturbed us at a wrong time." Karan said.
"Oops, sorry." Yash said with a sheepish smile. "But I swear I called Teja only when I had no other option left. Anu and Harsh are not in town and I just couldn't call my parents."
"To be honest you didn't even need us" Teja said, "Shruti was more than enough to save you."
"Hmm..but I didn't expect her to come."
"Why not?" Shruti asked instantly.
"Because you owe me nothing."
"I owe you my life Yash. You saved me today. "
"I did what a responsible person is supposed to do at that point and I would have done that for anyone." Yash said nonchalantly.
This seemed a little weird to Teja as that was not how Yash behaved normally. She knew that there was something she was unaware about.
 
But the thing that made Teja sad was Shruti's fallen face. It was evident that Yash's indifference hurt her .
Teja didn't think it was her place to intervene but took a point to talk about it with Yash later.
Teja and Karan got back home at 3:00 am and in within no time fell asleep .
