Dylan's POV
It's been a little over a week now since I skipped school. I have adjusted well and was able to gain the trust of my classmates. I found out all their powers and their weakness. Alex has been sneaking off to meet with someone, but he won't tell me who it is. Aiden has been coming over every single day as well. I haven't been home since I got here. I miss Scarlet and my brother. I was supposed to visit home last weekend but Ethan canceled on me saying he has some important things he has to handle. I want to go home but haven't found any spare time to go back. I've been so busy with schoolwork. I haven't been getting much sleep either, I keep having weird dreams.
I'm supposed to go to school today, but I feel nauseous. I texted Alex telling him to come home, he was gone when I woke up. Aiden went home to get some clothes and said he'd return with some medicine. I don't want to be alone. The door slams open. I make eye contact with a familiar redhead.
Dylan: Scarlet?
Scarlet: Dylan, how are you? Alex told me you didn't feel well so I came here as fast as possible. I'm here now, you're not alone.
Scarlet is here, my sister is here. Without any hesitation, I immediately jumped on top of her and cried into her chest. I missed her. I haven't been apart from her for this long.
Scarlet: I missed you too.
Dylan: I'm so glad you're here. How's home?
Scarlet: Ethan's been a bitch. Someone broke in and took some shit. He won't tell us what was taken specifically but he is not happy.
Dylan: I should go home soon, Ethan needs me. If I was there no one would have broken in.
Scarlet: Not in this condition you're not? Your job is to rest.
Dylan: But-
Scarlet: The answer is no. Now lay down, I'll go make you some porridge. You can't take medicine on an empty stomach.
She lets go of me and leaves my room. Looks like she's busy but I'm glad I'm not alone. I don't remember the last time I've been this sick. I usually have Ethan with me when I'm this sick but he's not here. I never realized how much I cling to him but isn't it normal for younger siblings to cling to their older siblings? For some reason, I feel extremely anxious without Ethan here. Should I call him? Scarlet did say he's in a bad mood and I don't want to be a burden to him. Maybe I shouldn't, I have Scarlet here so I should be just fine.
Out of nowhere, I hear something break downstairs. I rushed out the door and bolted down the stairs. My eyes immediately landed on a familiar pair of emerald green eyes. Here we go again, why does this keep happening?
Scarlet: Dylan there's an intruder!
Dylan: Can you let my friend go?
Scarlet: Friend?
She immediately drops him onto the ground. I immediately go towards Aiden and help him up. I examine his neck and see red marks, looks like he's going to have bruises from this.
