Shu Sakamaki

Shu had always been quiet and detached, preferring to let the world around him pass by while he laid back, headphones over his ears. But when you brought up your past, his usual indifference vanished. You were sitting together in his room, the sound of classical music playing faintly in the background when you finally decided to open up to him.

"I've been through a lot, Shu. Before I met you... I was abused," you said, your voice barely a whisper, eyes downcast.

Shu didn't react immediately, his head tilting slightly as if trying to process your words. He pulled off his headphones and sat up, his blue eyes focused on you, more alert than you had seen him in a while. "What did you just say?"

"I was abused," you repeated, feeling a lump form in your throat.

There was a long silence, and for a moment, you wondered if he'd say anything at all. But then Shu's hand reached out, gently taking yours. "You should've told me sooner."

You shook your head. "I didn't want to bother you with it. I didn't think—"

"Stop," Shu interrupted softly, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Don't say that. You're not a bother."

His grip on your hand tightened slightly, and his usually lazy, distant demeanor shifted into something more serious, more intense. "I can't believe someone would dare hurt you like that. It makes me sick."

Shu leaned back, staring up at the ceiling with a pained expression. "I've seen enough people suffer. You didn't deserve any of it."

He tugged you closer, pulling you into his lap as he held you gently. His hand ran through your hair slowly, his usual apathy replaced with a quiet determination. "I'm not good at this whole 'protective' thing, but... you're safe with me. You know that, right?"

His voice was soft, almost hesitant, as if he wasn't used to expressing his emotions this openly. But the way his arms held you, the way his hand lingered on your back, made you feel safe in a way you hadn't felt before.

"I won't let anyone hurt you again," Shu murmured, resting his chin on your head. "I may be lazy, but for you... I'll always be there."

Reiji Sakamaki

You were seated across from Reiji in his study, the air heavy with the weight of the conversation. His glasses gleamed as he turned a page in his book, but you could see he was listening carefully. When you hesitated, unsure of how to bring it up, he glanced at you over the top of his frames.

"Is something on your mind?" he asked, his voice calm and collected as always.

You swallowed hard. "There's something I need to tell you... about my past."

Reiji set down his book, his full attention on you now. "Go on."

Taking a deep breath, you told him about the abuse you suffered. You watched his expression carefully, but his face remained composed, though his eyes darkened slightly as you spoke. When you finished, there was a long silence between you.

"I see," Reiji finally said, his voice quieter than usual. He removed his glasses and folded them neatly, setting them aside before standing and walking toward you.

"You should have told me sooner," he said softly, but there was no reprimand in his tone, only concern. "Why did you hide this from me?"

"I didn't want to burden you," you replied, feeling small under his sharp gaze.
