The sound of police sirens fills the air after a call came in from Alex about finding the body of Jacob White. After I received the call from Alex about him finding the body, I knew that this would only be the beginning of the end. And I also know that nothing will ever be the same again. But after this long, I know that it will be a hard investigation to follow up on, it's been a month, most people won't remember what they were doing, and others will never be able to forget.

So far, all I have is that this is no longer a missing persons case, it is a murder investigation, and for that, I need to go back to square one. The day he disappeared, and every day after that, until now. It's a long time. A big window in which he could have been killed.

A lot of suspects.

A lot of motives.

A lot of opportunities.

A lot of alibis.

His body told many stories none of which give us any leads to follow, but it does show us how he died, at that can drastically limit the possible suspects.

Its someone who is committed to the crime. It is also a sign that there will be more in a similar matter. You can't kill this way, and not want to do it again. Almost ritualistic. Demonic.

The total decomposition of the body is not parallel to what it should be to a person that has been dead and been in salt water for over a month, the colouration of the skin indicates that their body had been on ice for two to three weeks, and then their body moved here. The saltwater in the lake should have had a greater reaction after all of this time. The skin discolouration makes it difficult to determine when Jacob died upon glance.

Will have to wait for the autopsy to reveal more. I take note.

We know that he was definitely put there in the weeks after the news had died down about it. I had Nila Lake was dragged twice, along with divers, within the first week after his disappearance to find any evidence that we may have missed the first time around, but no such luck, which did originally give me the impression that he either didn't die, or as we now know, he was murdered.

Despite the body being found, and now having physical proof that Jacob was obviously murdered. There were still some people in denial about him being dead, these doubts came from random people around town, including his sister, and some of his friends from school, and even some of the people that didn't like their family, because it just seems like something they would do to get attention, and honestly, I wouldn't put it past them, faking their son's death to gain brownie-points. But I have his body in front of me, lying there cold and unmoving. He is dead.

Some people are jumping to the conclusion that he faked his death and dumped a fake version of him in the lake, that's why it took so long to find him, and other people believed that his body was put there after as a way to cover their track and to mask the fact that they killed Jacob. I'm more inclined to believe the latter.

Real blood. Real flesh. Real him.

We now know that Jacob was killed on May third, one week after we first believed, his body has ligature marks around his wrists that indicate that he was tied up, and the gash across his throat indicates that he was cut with a knife from behind to cause a deep cut which almost went straight through to the bone, along with a ligature mark around his neck which implies he was strangled.

Before we had found him, we started pursuing the route that maybe he wasn't dead, but rather he had gone into hiding, or had run away. The coroner is still trying to determine the exact time of his death so that we can start ruling out suspects, but until that time, everyone will remain as a suspect. But we do believe that he was taken on April twenty-sixth and so are looking into people's alibis for that time and anytime between then and when his body was eventually found. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
