The next morning she woke up to find Keefe shaking her awake, it seemed like it was almost sunrise.

"Come on, Foster, we're going to miss it," Keefe said, his voice filled with excitement.

Sophie rubbed her eyes, trying to shake off the last remnants of sleep. "Miss what?" she murmured, her voice groggy.

Keefe's eyes sparkled with excitement. "The sunrise, you should come watch it with me."

Sophie sat up, feeling the cold morning air seep into the room. "But why?" she asked, her voice still thick with sleep.

Keefe leaned over, his eyes filled with something she couldn't quite place. "Just come."

Sophie threw off the covers and grabbed a sweatshirt, her curiosity piqued. They made their way through the quiet house and out into the brisk morning air. The sky was just beginning to lighten, the stars fading away like shy performers at the end of a show. They reached the edge of the property, where a small hill overlooked the forest.

"This is where I come to watch the sunrise every Thanksgiving," Keefe said, his voice soft.

Sophie looked around, the hilltop was a serene place, the early light of dawn casting a gentle glow over the horizon. "What's the reason behind it?" she asked, her breath misting in the cold air.

Keefe took a deep breath, his eyes on the horizon. "It's complicated," he said, his voice filled with a mix of nostalgia and sadness. "My mom watched the sunrise with me on Thanksgiving when I was 6. It was the only thanksgiving my parents had and have ever been home. I thought she may actually care about me that day."

Sophie felt a pang of sadness, she knew Keefe's family history was... complicated. She wrapped her arms around him, her warmth seeping into his body. "I'm here," she whispered, her voice filled with comfort.

Keefe leaned into her embrace, his eyes never leaving the horizon. "Thanks, Foster," he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet vulnerability she hadn't heard before.

They watched the sun peek over the trees, casting a warm glow over the landscape. The world slowly woke up around them, the birds starting to chirp their morning tunes. After a while, the chill grew too much to bear, and they reluctantly stood, walking hand in hand back towards the house.

As they approached, the sweet aroma of cooking food wafted through the air, making their stomachs growl in unison. The house was a flurry of activity, with everyone bustling around the kitchen in various states of sleepiness. Her mother was at the stove, flipping pancakes with a grace that came from years of practice. Dex was setting the table, arranging plates and silverware with military precision. And Fitz was... well, staring at himself in the mirror.

Keefe laughed, "What are you doing?" He called out.

Fitz looked over his shoulder, grinning. "Just making sure I look good for breakfast," he quipped, smoothing down his already perfect hair.

Sophie couldn't help but laugh, the tension from the night before dissipating with the early morning light. "Alright, break it up," she said, her voice playful. "Keefe, you're going to help me make coffee, right?"
