POV: Tim

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I glanced at it quickly while Lucy was looking for a movie for us to watch. When I looked at the message I froze suddenly, my stomach sinking with dread. Lucy had asked me something but I was too focused on what Angela had just told me to reply.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, looks good." I mumbled after a couple seconds, still staring at the message.

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing, uh, I have to go call Angela, wait here." I replied quickly and got up to go to my bedroom.

As soon as I was alone I called Angela and she picked up instantly.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey, Tim, you need to come to the station."

"Angela, I'm with Lucy."

"Do not tell her, it will just upset her, we can deal with this."

"What are we supposed to do about it?"

"I don't know but we have to do something."

"And you're sure it's her? You're sure it's Rosalind." I had to make sure Angela was sure if I was going to lie to Lucy.

"When she escaped we figured she would get some money she had hidden somewhere. We had a bunch of possible locations but there were no sightings of her. After a few days we assumed that she left the state so we broadened our search. But she has been here the entire time and she has been two steps ahead of us. She called Nolan, he said it was definitely her and she threatened him. She wants to meet, to negotiate. Nolan said she wanted to talk to you and Nolan together."

"Why me?" my head was spinning, coming up with all the possible scenarios.

"It might have something to do with Lucy, she has eyes and ears everywhere, she must know you two are together."

I noted the fact that Angela somehow knew about me and Lucy but didn't question it, now was not the time.

"Meet at the station to make a plan." I ordered and hung up the phone.

I was about to leave, my hand hovering above the doorknob, when I picked my phone back up and called a different number.

Sergeant Grey answered, his tone conveying every hint of annoyance.

"This better be good Bradford."

"I just need your permission, Sir." I started, giving him a brief run down.

After a little hesitation he approved our plan, on the condition that there are units placed on the street outside. I agreed and left the room, entering the kitchen while Lucy was answering the door. She walked back inside with bags in her arm, slamming them onto the counter.

"Food's here." she stated looking at me expectingly.

"Lucy, I'm sorry I have to go." I replied, noticing her face drop significantly.

"What?!" she replied her voiced raised, casing me to tense my arms anxiously. "Why?" she added, folding her arms in defiance. It killed me to not be able to tell her, but she would insist on coming, bringing back everything that happened in the past. I would just tell her after.

"I just have to go. It's a work thing."

"We work together! Why can't I know? And you don't even start your new Metro job for two days."

"Angela just needs my help with a case, it's classified."

"Oh it's classified is it?" she replied, rolling her eyes in frustration. She knew I was hiding something, as much as I tried to hide it, clearly she knew me better than I thought.
